Default What next in my campaign?

Hi gang,

Presently in command of a VIIB in the 7th/13th Flotilla out of St. Nazaire. It is 9/24/41 in game. I'm pretty content with how things are going, but am beginning to itch for a transfer. Available to me are the 1st, 2nd and 23rd/29th.

For those with me game experience than me, what would you do? Where will the action be at this point in time?

Thanks,

Alex

I enjoy transferring to the Mediterranean. Patrols aren't as long, but there is a bit more challenge I find, especially after the allies get the hedgehog. Something about going in to Gibraltar at midnight and blowing up a harbor is just fun.

Some of the convoy routes I enjoy to sit on are in shallow water, or they are within allied air coverage. There is also one island base that can give you grief if you are close enough and get spotted. Valletta, if I remember correctly. Just stay away from that one, unless you have displeased the admiralty and want a quick death.

2nd flotilla would introduce you to type IXB with it pros and cons, if you prefer trying that out. It's extended range and larger torpedo supply will come handy in -42 when drums are beat...

Acting from Lorient you would be sent propably south to check the seas around west Africa. You would see the Canaries as well as try your luck infiltrating Freetown.

Gibraltar is definitely something to check out! I had the pleasure to sink the infamous HMS Nelson there which made certain Mr. Zahn a little happier.

Later in 1942 Operation Paukenschlag would send you to see the America!
Sunking those poor tankers without any cover in the Caribbian and running up and down the east coast is great.
And maybe see the New York?
