Having recorded Avengers: Age of Ultron on my TiVo box and subsequently forgetting about it, my daughter and her boyfriend stumbled upon it last night whilst searching for something to watch.

I must admit to being pleasantly surprised.

I saw The Revenant last night.

I'm going to go ahead and say what I think and I think it's got a good probability of coming true.

DiCaprio will win his Oscar this year for this movie. And I'm going to go ahead and call it Top 3 of 2016 already. I'd say it's the best but it's too early in the year to make such a specific claim.

This was a perfect movie. Awesome camera work, incredible landscape shots, badass plot with badass performances by DiCaprio and Tom Hardy.

It won several Golden Globes last night after having only been out since the end of December (limited, opened large three or four days ago for NA, iirc).

Go see it. You won't regret it.

---

Also, seems Jennifer Lawrence has won a Globe for best actress in a comedy. I haven't seen Joy yet...but it's on the list.

I used to like her, but since she won the academy award... I don't know... she just doesn't work for me anymore. Not saying she isn't good, but each time I see she's making a new movie and then see her partner is, OH SURPRISE, again Bradley Cooper, I can only roll my eyes and skip the movie completely.
It just get's boring, you know.
Imagine Kate Winslet and DiCaprio in every second movie together. It would get old fast.

I don't disagree with you. Since she got big and famous I think the quality of her movies has gone down. I still think Winter's Bone was her best one. That movie never gets old.

I would like to see some more variety but you know how the business works. They find a formula that makes money and then they milk it for all it's worth.

Absolutely. Love them both, maybe the best TV 'couple' ever.
I binged the whole series just lately, what a ride.

Watched Ultraviolet on TV the other night seems to be a mash of vampire SciFi shoot them up comic book look film set way in the future. Not to sure what the storyline was about as that got lost in all the action.

Some reflexion over the 3 movies I saw during new years day(or what you say in proper English)

Fantastic 4(from 2015) I say the old version from 2005 is much better.

Terminator Genisys- OK movie- I have all 4 of them, so to have a complete collection I'm going to buy this one. If I didn't, I may not have bought it, it was not that great.

Mission impossible Rogue Nation- Good movie-not great, even though it had some great moments.

I have never been good at describing something I have seen. I guess other would have filled two pages with words about these three movie.

MI: Rogue Nation - I liked and it has moments that remind me of the MI series.

F4-let Marvel Studios do a proper adaptation. Fox failed twice now, so let them have only the X-Men.

I think all of them are good if they beat MI2 which they did.

MI2 was a flop for me with all that slow mo camera action.
