I saw this and it blew my tiny little mind!

Realistic 3D eye

Computing power has come a long way to get to this level of graphic realism. Soon we'll wonder if anything presented in the media is reality or CGI graphic BS. If it hasn't happened already. AI is on the near horizon.
Are we destined for a matrix style future?

Can't see vid from phone but get the gist. I read a science magazine recently that said they can properly recreate human faces for things like games and videos but for some reason it appears to be too freaky so the always do something to make it look more artificial for the consumer.

That seems analagous to the situation faced by drum machines and the early CDs. For drum machines, they found the extreme precision was a bit offputting to other musicians and listeners so some models are made to create "mistakes" such as missed or delayed beats to simulate human drummers. With CDs, in the early days the recordings used were mixed and masterd originally for vinyl and tapes and, used on CDs, produced a sort of errie sterile effect some listeners found unsettling...

You were supposed to eat it, not smoke it.
