Not trying to insult your intelligence, but you did install FOTRS v1.3 over SH4 v1.5 correct?

OK, had to ask though. There can be many things that could be causing your problem. It be a good idea if you could supply a little more info. Such as where you have it installed, computer specs, what other mods if any you might have installed. Just to start.

Since I am running FOTRS 1.3 right now and have ground terrain, I know that is not a characteristic of the mod. And yes, you discovered that SH4 doesn't like running in the \Program Files (x86) directory. Good show! That will help a lot of mods.

Anyways! For my own WWI mod I am creating lots of cargo ships; as you probably know, many WWI cargo ships were used again in WWII. I would be happy to offer you some generic-looking merchants once they are complete - the ship below, with a reskin into camoflage, could pass for a Japanese freighter.
Sorry for the delay, IABL. Getting caught up on two pages that materialized overnight here and hadn't gotten back as far as your post! Yes, by all means a JSGME compatible mod for installing these ships would be most welcome!

We would put it in our Plugins collection, as we are keeping the core mod as pure MadMax as possible, but the Plugins collection is the real jewel of FOTRS Ultimate! For the first time in the history (LONG history) of the game players are going to be in charge of rolling their own supermod in perfect safety and with a guarantee of compatibility. And we're demonstrating what compatibility should mean. that it should mean more than "the game won't crash when you use these two mods together."

Thank you for the offer. My intention is that these ships would not appear in the recognition manual at all. Players would have to pick a target ship they think might be similar to the target they find, just like the real submarine commanders did in WWII. Most sighted targets did not appear in their recognition manual. So they guessed, most often wrongly. We can do that! I think this will be a MOST realistic addition to anyone's game. But they have the right to choose or not to choose the option in FOTRS Ultimate! That's exciting.

Thank you IABL for something that I hadn't even thought about up until now.

Report on "the sound." I'm using sounds from TMO 2.5, which are nearly identical to FOTRS but without the volume difficulties, thank you Propbeanie!, and I get the sound there too.

The sound always starts upon radar contact with a plane. I thought it stopped if I submerged but it doesn't. Don't know what the off trigger is, if there is one. My guess is that this is a stock issue that was just never noticed before, or a longstanding TMO issue that worked continuously from TMO 1.7 to 2.5 with nobody reporting it. It's weird but it's the best I have!

Anyway I'm headed to a harbor on Formosa to take some photos. On radar are about six ships in the harbor and a sunk ship! Never saw a sunk ship that I didn't cause in a harbor. Promises to be fun to take some photos. I'll probably accidentally push the wrong button and send some torpedoes that way too.

Default "The SOUND"

Hello mates.

The family left me home alone until Sunday. I promised myself some off time from SDM and some wonderful FOTRS Ultimate playing time. I'm going to combine this playing time while substituting all the suspicious FOTRS sounds with stock ones, one by one, until I locate the sound that causes "The SOUND"

"The SOUND" hides in the \DATA\SOUND folder. I've tested the last week FOTRS with stock and other sound packages. They've given me no problems. Installing the FOTRS sounds again, I've got the known results.

I really don't know what can be further done about this. FOTRS Ultimate is gonna be wonderful, very immersive, but except the "She's going down" message, nothing is a greater immersion killer but to save and reload because of "The SOUND". That really makes the game unplayable for me.

I'll try the substituting method and report my findings, if any.

Regards,
Billy.

Oh no !!! More ships to balance and test! As if Maddy didn't provide enough!

Just kidding, of course.

Your offer is very generous Captain. These ships will really look very nice with the Rising Sun flying on their main mast. Thank you!!

WOW! Take a look at this U-Boat!!

Regards,
Billy.

May our launch go smoother than the Portugese Navy's drone program.
