Default 64 Bits of Trouble

As part of my work on my tabletop ship game I've been using a ballistics and penetration calculator. I haven't used it in awhile, and a couple of days ago I had need of it again. When I tried to run it I found that it won't work on a 64-bit system. There is a newer version, but the people at the website that has it aren't responding.

Is there any way I can make this old program talk to my computer.

Oh, and I've already tried Torp-X's new program, and while it's nice it does none of the things I need.

I encountered a similar issue with Cliptrakker when I started using Win7. If you find a solution, please post it here, maybe it will apply to other 32-bit programs.

After a month of searching I finally learned about VirtualBox. It downloads and installs easily. The only problem was that while the installation instructions are easy to follow, the ones for installing XP or another program are not.

After a few more days of searching I found . There are many available but this is the one I was able to understand and follow. Big Gun, the ballistics and penetration calculator, is now up and running on my computer!

Other then messing around with the compatibility settings in windows, there is little that can be done, short of dual booting, or running some sort of emulation environment. Emulated environments may not work for all programs though.

Your best bet is to figure out which OS this program was originally written for, as that can help you figure out what steps you will need to take next.

Also telling us the exact name of the program (and version number) too might help. As some of us may be able to dig up the newer version, even if the sight is offline

Thanks for the offer, but as I said in my last post, the problem is solved.
