Random Lockup using 1.5 (Uboat Missions)

The title gives the problem - out of the blue SH4 will lock solid. Never had this issue with 1.4. Whats really wild is it happens in both the nav map and in the bridge station. It appears to be traffic related as it only tends to occur near ports (on the bridge) or when a convoy is "loaded" on the map screen (but that is my theory only) .... Its not a constant that is replicatable - its entirely random. Sometimes it can be in the first 10 minutes of a game, others it may be after 2 hours. I get it when playing either campaign (I don't every play single missions/war patrols) irrespective of date.

Here are the specs and other info:

X2 4200 w 2G ram
X1650 Pro (Device Manager shows Driver V8.451.0.0 WHQL signed)
Vista Ultimate (32 Bit)

Mods:
TMO (with patches)
RSRD for TMO (with patches)
ASW for TMO
Nuke Boat for 1.5 (not released to the Public as yet)

I have tried disabiling the mods - doesnt seem to make a difference. Whats important to note is that when it locks up, I cannot Alt-tab out, though I can get my start menu thru the "Windows" key. Mouse functions on the bar, but the pc will not display the desktop - the graphic screen (nav map or bridge station) is still drawn. If I right click the SH4 program block I can hit close - but get the "Not Responding" window and of course "End Task" does nothing. Have tried running taskmanager (or other similiar app) and no joy. At that point its pull power and reboot...

At this point I can rule out the mods. (Sorry Ducimus - you'll get no "Your mod broke my pc, stereo, car alternator and my favorite kitchen blender!" from me!)
I can also rule out any temp concerns. HW failure. The only sftw that does this is SH4 - all my other apps and games are solid as ever. I have searched and didn't find anything on the forums that looked remotely like this issue.

Any Ideas?
