Been on this the past few nights and had forgotten just hoe refreshing a drink it is.

It was certainly a positive change to some of the Mexican beer I was consuming recently.

Default Bootleg Brewing Co "Urban Fox"

Craft Red Ale; 4.4% ABV; £1.29 from ALDI

Lovely tea-coloured, crisp malty ale... very similar in flavour to the Wychwood Fire Catcher

Most Mexican beers do not rate high with me. I like Modelo and that is about as long as the list gets.

Don't think I tasted that one Chris but those that I did were certainly NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE.

Enjoyed this stout last night. Strong but smooth...

Default Sadler's "Hoptical Illusion" dry hop lager

0.99p for this 330ml bottle in ALDI (ABV 4.5%)

I had one of these last night with my Halloween tea and it's one of the most amazing things I've tasted. It's a lager, yet it has the most hoppy dry and malty flavour... like an English ale... but so dry and so bitter that it almost makes your moth pucker

As it says on the label, "Looks can be deceiving!"

Default Wadworth's "Treacle Treat" dark ale

Bought by Moira for herself in ALDI a while ago, so I don't have the price of this 500ml bottle (ABV 4.2%)

She says it's a smooth sweet beer, although still with enough bitterness. It does have a treacly taste in keeping with its dark body (body... see what I did there?)

Default Wickwar's "Platform 6.1" IPA

£1.69 for 500ml from B&M Stores, alc 6.1%

This is a very sweet and hoppy-smelling ale, with just a trace of bitterness as a backnote. It's a beautiful summery drink, almost like a pear or mixed-fruit cider, and would be perfect in a small glass after a meal of light meat, such as chicken or fish

A big thumbs-up for this one... we're definitely going to try to get some in for Christmas

And a O'Hara's Pale Ale. Also another fine beer!

Purchased a selection of ASDA ales yesterday and started off with this one whilst watching the Huddersfield v Fulham match last night.

Light & refreshing with a floral, hoppy flavour & a dry citrus finish.
