Hi Vickers03,
Very cool mod for the most part, however I have found a real problem that I am sure can be fixed given the right attention. The radio room in the Type VII's (non-open-hatch regular version) and the Type IX's twists to an impossible angle when diving or ascending and remains contorted even after completion of the maneuver. In the meantime, as a temporary solution, what I will do is just remove the radio room files from the mod... leaving only the control room bits functional. (Until testing this mod, I don't think I've ever been standing in the radio room anyway during an 'operational' dive. Will post a screenshot here as soon as I can hunt it down. No file in my personal installation alters / overwrites the files you modded. It is indeed a problem with the interior diving angles mod. (Using nearly 98 percent 'official' GWX material otherwise in that installation.) Also, cheers to Anvart for helping you get it fixed this far. I think that as a result of difficult communications with him... we have collectively lost out on some good things that might have been done in days past. C'mon on lads, play nice and keep things above bar here and get back on track in the spirit of the great mod that has been made here. My fingers are tired from editing some of your posts. Modders-Users of Mods-All other members here at SUBSIM are all = here, nothing more, nothing less. RDP |

??? What is it? I think, the tilt should be 10° (big Uboat) ... 15° (small Uboat) max ... for (example) crush dive ... ??? I see more 20° ... ??? ... and look #93 P.P.S. ... Quote:

Cheers Anvart.
To all observers, I think I should clarify my post regarding the tilt angle problem shown in the screenshots I posted. When in the radio room, looking fore or aft, the contortion is lateral... not longitudinal. The longitudinal angle appears to be okay. Unlike the correct function in the control room using this mod, the lateral contortion remains after the maneuver is complete... as if the boat were stuck or listing to one side. |

guilty i knew this was coming sooner or later,
but i had the expression that it doesn't happen all the time ok now for the technical part: Anvart, i tried to rotate the whole radioroom (in.dat file) to avoid this strange behaviour but all i got was even more strange. i think there may be some differences between type2, 7, 9, 21 camera behaviour but i can't figure out what it is. (maybe room position/rotation?) i changed the room rotation, angles, camera position to no avail.:hmm: another problem is, i can't open your NSS_Uboat2_CR.dat with silent editor, so i don't know if you changed some coordinates there. |

Well, Good luck in your attempts to find a solution to this problem - if there is a practical one!!
If it's any consolation to you, the problem doesn't seem to be caused by your mod. It happened to me the other day ,and I'm not even using it! I was in the training navigation mission. Moved through to Radio Room using Station shortcut. As usual there was the wild camera swing from side to side. This normally settles after a couple of seconds. Only this time it didn't! I was stuck at 45 degree angle and when I sat down on Captain's bunk, it was like I was laying down. The good bit is I managed to get out of it The bad ( and embarrassing ) bit is that I don't remember exactly how I THINK that I went to shift+F2 and then walked through the open hatch to Radio Room. When I left Shift+F2 by using a Station Shortcut, the lean had gone from the standard view. This had never happened before, and I've not seen it since. I just put it down to one of SH3's little glitches. Maybe just switching camera view will correct this intermittent problem with your mod without requiring you to rewrite any camera behaviours?? |

@ Cheapskate, are you using the Depthcharge shake or LRT mod, these alter the camera.dat file & has this same effect.

No , matey, I'm not using either of those.
The only obvious camera alteration mods I've got are DD's Open Hatch and Sergbuto's Camera mod. BTW, this happened to me on a modded Stock 1.4b install. The wild swinging when first changing station goes back to the OH mod as far as I remember. Although I never had a freeze until the other day. Just changing the view camera seemed to sort this out. Possibly this approach will work with the Diving Angle Mod. Don't have any plans to try this out though - I'm having more than enough trouble getting other things to work at the moment Cheers! Cheapskate Oh, by the way, been meaning to ask you for ages, do you still have a copy of Flakmonkey's original Twisted Periscope Thingy ?? He pulled it before I could get it. I know you did a reissue ,and I've got those, but they break my Anvart RDF loop activation . Sorry to go off topic but if you can come up with the original I'd be ever so grateful |

Somewhere I'm sure, it's 12.15 am here now so I will have a look after a good nights sleep, just got back from the big smoke about an hour ago, we're expecting a frost in the morning, so you can imagine it was quite cool riding the old beamer! (about 100mls one way) I'll pm you if I have any luck, cheers!

Oops. While? ... Ooh, yes, S3ditor cannot consider all cases ... You did not look NSS_Uboat2_CR.dat file ... ??? How you did your mod? ... I have fixed Type2 UBoat interior mistakes - NSS_Uboat2_CR.dat file, because it is the big file and not all modders can work with such file ... It was my main task ... Tilt (inclination) was my optional task ... This work is made for a long time, therefore I already do not remember details ... P.S. Now I have started SH3 with my mod ... Works excellently ... Cameras rotate in a vertical plane along a longitudinal axis of a submarine ... Crush dive: Emerg. surf.:
