Ram scoops in a car? Not really all that much manifold pressure benefit at such low speeds. I'll shut up now.

No I won't.

Just saw this shot from 268,563 miles out! In this image, Orion captures a unique view of Earth and the Moon, seen from a camera mounted on one of the spacecraft's solar arrays.

Wow, what an amazing shot!

Although it looks like the bolt is going through the tower, I think it is actually behind the tower. It wouldn't make sense for the bolt to behave that way so close to the metal structure. But either way, the effect is stunning.

I'd always thought that the "Alexander Mosaic" found at Pompeii and displayed at Naples was found like that i.e. damaged, missing huge chunks. Turns out it was found intact, and some copies were painted before it was moved.

What happened afterwards??? is anyones guess, but now it's missing huge chunks.

I'm still digging into this but thought I'd share the complete picture, it's somewhat satisfying.

two kayakers experienced an event of a lifetime: being nearly swallowed by a humpback whale. Julie McSorley and Liz Cottriel were enjoying a day of whale watching off the coast of Avila Beach, California, when a massive humpback suddenly engulfed their kayak. Miraculously, both women escaped the encounter unharmed, and the kayakers and nearby witnesses captured the surreal moment on video.

YIPES! looking at old and somewhat dated fotos of legendary Studio 54's heyday, with celebrities letting it all hang out, I came across this classic of Dolly Parton horsin' around:
