I'm currently out of town and away from my main computer, but will be happy to answer your question when I get home on Wednesday.

To answer your question, these are the "official" USN designations for the subs that were based in the Philippines ( TF 3 ) and later in Fremantle ( TF 51/71 )

Hi lurker,

I'm running RFB 1.52 with latest fix, and on top of it your magnific campaign, up to RSRDC_RFBv15_V421

I was out of Fremantle in an S class boat in april 1942 with the objective of patrolling the Celebes Sea, Northeast of Tarakan Island. Found good hunting there and put down three merchants, expending all my torpedoes, but had three problems or strange experiencies:

1.- No matter how much I crossed and crossed over the objective mark, even atop the center of it, it never changed status to "completed". The objective had no duration, simply to "reach" that position. On other patrols, as soon as I got close to such objectives, it was completed and I got a new one asking me to patrol for X hours. Not this time, though!.

2.- With all torpedoes expended I reported to base on my way to Brisbane (Received a message telling me that by 18 april 1942 all S-Boats were to report there), but the return message I got was to continue with my current objective Low on fuel and with no torpedoes, is that normal? Shouldn't it be "Return to base, well done"

3.- I planned to refuel at Darwin, as the icon showed there was a refit tender or secondary base. But when I nosed in at april 25th, there was nothing but a docked destroyer. Could not refuel, and had to creep my way slowly to Brisbane at economical speed.

Item 1: Unable to recreate your problem.

Item 2: You did not need to respond to the message, the responds you got was based on your "mission objective"

Item 3: Didn't you notice the small "anchor" icon in the upper right corner of the display. It will be there when you are within 10nm/20km of the "base" marker. Just double click on the icon and the "refuel/refit" window will display.

Also you are playing on a "obsolete" version of RSRDC. The current version for RFB is v575, see first post for download link,

I could swear I didn't see it, but since I save regularly, I will try to rescue the last one before arriving at Darwin. I'll report with whatever result

Man, you update them faster than I can play them!!!

Thanks for the quick response

Reloaded the proper mission, went to Darwin and ...

OK, now I got it

Since I'm used to move those icons to a less disturbing part of the screen, it went unnoticed to me, as I'm also used to see the pop-up window automatically.

Thanks

I spent some time looking for an answer--couldn't find it. Can I install the latest RSRDC for stock, on version 1.4? I'm waiting to hear from ubisoft about getting me a new activiation code for my uboat addon (uninstalled it over a year ago.)

I was hoping I could run a RSRD campaign over 1.4 in the meantime.

The current version requires SH4 1.5

The latest versions are 1.5-compatible only. However, you can download and install the 1.4-compatible version(s) of RSRDC. Go to this link to select the proper ones (TMO, RFB, or stock compatible): http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=157853

These were the final releases for 1.4. I played them up until last week.

Say, Lurker,

Whatever happened to the fishing fleets, sampans and junks? My gunners are really bored since Ducimus armed the freighters early in the war. Makes surface attacks unadvisable.

BTW, Ducimus said he didn't eliminate them. Since I'm only running TMO with RSRDC, I must assume this layer was 'forgotten' during the re-write. Is it possible to get them back? I really enjoy shooting the masts off the junks.

There was no "forgotten" layer. The campaign files used by RSRDC are different from "stock" TMO

You still see them in appropriate locations, correct?
