installation hang

This is nothing new to old hands of various ERT forums. But I've yet to find a way out of this mess. I had to unistall because of display problems. When I tride to re-install I got this error mess:

An error occurred during the move data process:106
Componet: Music
File Group: Music
File: music.ezv

I've checked my disc for scratches; I've disengaged virus protection; ran a spyware, trojan, virus program; switched drives; defragmented both local drives; altered page file config. My hands are up! Please, is there someone out there who can offer me something other than shelling out another 29 bucks!
