Historical immersion
Maybe I’m the only one, but when I play I like to play as accurately as possible to how a real world sub skipper would act. So, I read through some of the real world manuals for skippers and generally follow their guidelines. How do some of you others play, any specific guidelines you put down to try and maintain some accuracy in the game?

I made and use a Submarine Attack Course Finder to perform calculations in the game. I've also used a slide rule, maneuvering board, and stopwatch to play.
Using tools they would have had available can be interesting.

As a fictional skipper, I always decide freely on the situation, for me only the crew and the boat are important.

I do daily trim dives. I also do weapons drills and crash dive drills.
