There are a few mods that will change the background screens.

I recommend this one

Default Good news - problems fixed

I just wanted to mention that the weird sinking behavior and flickering lights glitch in my subs has disappeared. I simply uninstalled SH III and reinstalled, and reinstalled GW3. no other mods installed (and that is what my problem was before). So relieved everything is working okay.

I was curious about one thing though.

These mines and submarine nets; do they have a graphic? That is, can you actually see them if you get close enough? If so, could you describe what they look like?

Checked out the sheets that you click-and-hold to view. Didn't even know about those. Really neat. Also viewed the friendly port sheet that shows the locations of mines and submarine nets. Very nice. Excellent mod.

You can see the mines and nets in game. Glad your problem has been resolved as well.

May your torpedoes run true

Default scary looking mines

Thanks for the advice and screenshots guys. Those are indeed some scary looking mines - realistic and well-detailed.

Last night, I hit a submarine net while surfaced (on purpose too - was kinda curious what would happen). I think I just took a small amount of damage, not sure. I apparently passed right over it (my speed didn't drop, but I heard a bang, and my crew said we're taking damage). I tried to circle back around to look at it, this time submerged, but got worried I'd take more damage, and resumed course.

Nice to see all the dials working too. I also like the more realistic clouds. I think my favorite change is all the new ship models and types.

Take care.

Default Can't Install GWX 3.0

Trying to install GWX 3.0, but it won't install. It detects my clean install of SH3 from Gamefront as a modded game. It is 1.4.0.1 as opposed to 1.4b. Patches from Ubisoft will also not install as they detect this as a newer verson. Is there any workaround? (I soo miss my subsim!)

Erm, 1.4.0.1 is the product version number of what Ubisoft calls SH3 v1.4b. You have it. I have it. We all have it. Patches from Ubi won't install because it is already patched to the latest version. If anything besides the Ubi v2.4b patcher won't run on it, then there may be something wrong with your installation.

I know that GWX works just fine with 1.4.0.1 if you download GWX from here http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...o=file&id=3890 or from here http://www.thegreywolves.com/downloads/. h.sie's and Stiebler's patchers both work AOK with 1.4.0.1 also.
