Hi all
A quick intro. I am a lifelong wargamer covering figures games, boardgames, computer games, megagames and across many periods. Over time I have shifted to being more of a military history researcher than active wargamer.

For 30 years I have been fascinated by The Battle of the Atlantic in WW2. I have built up a decent library of c300 books and magazines plus numerous original source papers from the archives. My real interest is on the escort side of things - mainly RN and RCN - particularly on the role of the SOE and group training and tactics.

I am happy to field any questions that might arise on the escort side of things if any of you are experts on subs but with less information on their opposition.

My Subsim name is the acronym for the Western Approaches Tactical Unit (as most of you will recognise no doubt). This was a training unit based in Liverpool where tactics of U-Boats were analysed in a large floor wargame and escort commanders trained in group ASW tactics.
