You can find OLC's video tutorials here which are really good: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...o=file&id=1112

Tailmange did a pretty good video on Youtube using OLC GUI, not exactly the same as the LSH3 interface but pretty close:

I've discovered that the only differences between the videos and the LSH implementation is that the recognition manual is different and where the controls show up is different (I think OLC vid matches). When using the rings, when you get the mast height in marks, you have to compare it against 2x the mast height listed in the recog manual (OLC's mast heights were actually doubled in his recognition manual IIRC) ie. master height is 23.1 then you would compare against 46.2, and reading only half of the horizontal marks to determine AOB. You can practice this in the torpedo training mission to confirm. In OLC's vid he also shows how he uses the Attack Disk.

In OLC-Gold the 2 x mast height was omitted if I remember correctly. Still you get used to do "the doubling" very quickly.

Also using Shift + T, locks / Unlocks the TDC. Good to have in last moment adjustments.

In choppy weather its difficult to get a good estimate on the number of notches when "rings" are activated (no mouse control).
I usually decide a fix distance say 800m. Then determine how many notches it will take and switch back to ordinary scope view.
Here I can control the scope using ctrl + mouse and swipe across my target until I read the right number of notches. Note: in normal view each notch is 2 times the number with rings-view activated.
When correct I lock scope and fire.

Hi Kumando
I also have game loading problems with a windows error message showing when trying to load from SH3Commander to the main menu sometimes.
Reasserting SH3Commander to run as administrator from the main file and not the shortcut gets round this problem each time.

Very seldom get a crash loading from the saved game.
No ctd's in the game in over 30 missions to date.

Does this mod have decent AI for ships? Also, is this mod considered as realistic in terms of damage model for u boat's? Is there unrealistic meter what shows accurately how much damage part of the u boat has?

I'm trying to decide what mod to download

You can make the game as easy or difficult to suit your game play in a variety of different ways.

I'm enjoying this mod thus far (3 patrols into a career) but my experience is indeed limited. It's good for eye candy and so far, AI seems good, though I haven't encountered many hostiles so I can't really speak to it. I also haven't been damaged. You could always download Bl!tzkr!eg's S3F mod and try multiple. http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=212462 It's a frontend that helps facilitate multiple installations.

Thanks for your answers. After reading manual, this mod seems really nice and customizable.

Hi, im using the extend challenge mod but i deslike the fact that it limits the visibility to 10km, does anyone knows wich files i have to mod to revert it back to 16km but leave the rest unchanged?

I don't know for certain but it could be sensors.cfg. I don't know the patterning of the file though. You may be able to compare the new vs. the old and see what differences are there to confirm that this file is the one that's affecting the range. Again, this is a guess.

Does the LSH3-2015 GUI OLC Widescreen mod have a separate stadimeter?

Dont think so the range is estimated with the RAOFB wheel.

Correct. I don't think any of OLC's GUIs or OLC style GUIs use the default stadimeter.

@Kumando
Have you ever been at sea?
Even with mirror-like water and without the ever-present haze over the water an object of 15m height at 16km Visibility disappears below the horizon. While this may be realistic for GWX, but in fact this is completely unreal.

Interesting,
to note that the supermod CCoM11 (from Rowi) takes into account the roundness of the earth.

From a certain distance (beyond 6-7 km), hulls of ships sink into the water and we see only the part superior in binoculars
