Quick question

Is McAfee SiteAdvisor any good?

Just wondering as it seems to look like a good idea as I was wondering to try it.

I use it, I think it works really well most if the time. I use it in conjunction with Web Of Trust, between the two you get a good idea about websites although WOT is based on user feedback of sites so the view it gives can be a bit skewed.

Apple charges for everything!

I used Mcafee for a short time and found it a bit intrusive when surfing the web. It slowed things down while it sniffed like a dog for anything not on the up and up. Your mileage may vary.
Personally, I use Microsoft Security Essentials. It's free. I hate over priced subscriptions for antivirus software that doesn't always catch what it's supposed to. I picked up a trojan when I used McAfee and didn't find out until my ISP notified me of some excessive traffic coming from my IP addess. BOOT!

As its free I have now got it and it shows me on my searches which is OK and which is not, displays a little logo in the address bar and so far not had any issues like being slowed down.
