Hi.
Maybe you could try this: Start Notepad. Add: ren d3d9.dll d3d9.tmp sh3missioneditor ren d3d9.tmp d3d9.dll Save to SHIII directory. Rename the new file to "MissionEditor.bat" and send to desktop (shortcut). Rename the shortcut on desktop to "MissionEditor". You can change the icon in the properties of the shortcut. Icons in SilentHunterIII/Sh3MissionEditor.exe. Run the MissionEditor with the shortcut. The small command line window you can minimze, it will disappear when you close the MissionEditor. Echolot. |

I am also having trouble with Mission Editor, I can open it fine but when I open a file the window where the map should be showing it's just a big black square.
All the commands seem to work, and when I move the cursor over the "map" I can see the coordinates or whatever changing in the bar at the bottom... so it looks like it's doing what it normally does, I just can't see anything. I've tried this in three different game installations, one without the res fix installed, and I've tried all the suggestions for disabling the res mod .dll in the ones that have the res fix... nothing. I also downloaded the new version from Jimbuna's FF page, but can't run the .exe, it says I don't have kernell.dll on my computer. I never had this problem running Mission Editor before, I could disable the res fix .dll and it was all fine, but since I switched to Win7 64-bit I have the problem described above. |

Sorry to learn of this problem but it is usually 'fixeable' and I guarantee it is not the exe in my newer ME pack.
The link below will tell you what the error is and offer a free option to confirm etc. http://www.processlibrary.com/direct.../kernel/21533/ This link will give you a free solution http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dl...s.shtml?kernel Good luck. Edit...I forgot to mention that ME ver2 is working fine on my W7 64bit system, so it will/should work on yours.

I'll try it to sort it out. I don't go into ME to look at stuff often but when you do want to do that it's a right PITA not to have it working right. Edit: Heh, that was easy. I'd downloaded the file onto my backup drive where I keep all downloaded stuff and I was clicking on it trying to run it from there. Once I copied it into one of my game folders (where, uh, 'kernel.dll' is located, duh) it opens fine. BUT the 'map window' is still just a black window, no joy there. Then all I can think of is a conflict with the res fix...if your using it
