Is GWX4 an URBAN MYTH ?

Started my own thread. Hope it's in the right spot.

After being bypassed on another thread I thought i'de get more answers here.

Haven't seen most of the GWX Team posting lately.

Maybe their hard at work and too busy to post.

It's not a myth... I guess they're just working towards making the thing... in the meanwhile you might wanna check out individual mods or other packs that are out already, and that, as far as I know, fix a whole range of things, and they are very well done stuff, I might add. Remember that GWX is good, but not the only one out there, you don't have to eat your fingernails waiting for the good stuff to come out, and it'll ease any probable impatience.

Oh, and, it has come to my attention that there's already a post for what you ask, sorry I can't point you to it, you'll just have to use the search.

Cheers

heh heh ! I was just stirring the pot alittle bit to see what would happen.

The mods for SH4 are great.

I just prefer the GWX style.

Every time I stick my head into their shop, someone throws an oily rag in my face. But I hear lots of hammering, cursing, and see lots of sparks.

FIREWALL!!!

Stop stirrin' the pot.

GWX4... for the SH4 platform remains under construction.

For the moment, we will not release any precise details beyond what we've shown already.

I will say, that we passed a major milestone just a few days ago.

An official sneak peak is under discussion. However, when the machine is running at full speed... its hard to stop the whole shabang simply to point out some neat new stuff.

Furthermore, some of the best work we produce relates to the code itself... so showing you a million miles of hex data etc, isn't gonna impress you much... when it relates to matters you simply have to experience.

Something you should also know, and remember:

We are not concerned with the release schedule of SH5 or competing with any given mod or modder(s).

We know damn well, having raised the bar... that we can never lower it. LOL, whether it is reasonable or not... YOU expect no less than what you found in GWX 3.0 for SH3. Otherwise, I'm CERTAIN that you'll happily tell us where we went wrong. (Indeed there are a number of armchair 'community advisors' that LIVE to find faults with GWX methodology and would slap their grandmother to see the build effort fail.)

Finally, our dev team members work and live real lives in a harsh economy just as many of you do. Real life responsibilities must come first, even moreso than before... and on occasion, occasional PC repairs must simply wait until funds are available...

... sometimes that may stop the whole train.

GWX4 will be done when it is done.

Have a little faith.

'Nuff said for now. Back to yer boats with the lot of ya!

Very generous offer mate.

Though my initial reaction is to politely decline... I'll point it out to the guys to discuss. 'Times are a-changin.'

Whatever the outcome, your offer is much appreciated and notably selfless.

Oh yes, some other things...

GWX (we think) will not contribute to global warming or cause constipation.

Flatulence appears naturally in submariner populations (simulated or otherwise) ergo the GWX Dev Team will not take responsibility for any foul odors arising from long Atlantic transits. (He who smelt it... dealt it!)

GWX does however, appear to cause insomnia and reduced production at various employment stations regardless of nationality or political affiliation.

Otherwise, we hesitate to articulate, for fear that subsequent responses may deviate from the course of natural truth... or what you may want to hear.

When you say "code", you're not talking about the game's actual programming (the one that the original Devs have but usually no modder reaches), right?

BTW, I must have missed the news (I haven't been around for long), but, wasn't your retirement permanent, or you've come back?

Cheers
