Default Sub Command

I have encountered a problem trying to install SC from the NCP discs. I get it installed and run 1.08, and I try to load SCX&SCXIIc using the simple installer. It gets to the bottom of the black screen and just sets there flashing. It like it has frozen in the install process or I am not waiting long enough.
I had computer problems and went to a newer computer, Winodws XP Home Edition. I have already down loaded DW and with all patches including LWAMI and it is working fine.
I had the old SCX and SCXII files but apprently lost them when I had compter problems.
I don't know wether I am not waiting long enough or if I have a problem, but 4 minutes seems like along time, especailly if you are 66 years old. I would really feel bad if my wife came home and find me dead in front of the computer with a black screen flashing.

HELP

Ron,

You know I found a solution for original EA SC flashing that did not require purchasing NCP.

Default I still don't understand.

I had Sc loaded it from the NCP discs, and it was there I patched it to 1.08 and that was fine.My problems started or happen when I tried to load the SCX&SCXIIc from Bill's site using the simple installer, that went fine until I got the black screen and it went fine until the slide bar was at the bottom and it just kept flashing that it was compressing files etc., so I waited for about 4 minutes and nothing happened. When I clicked out of that back screen up came one for Akula and then another screen came up and so I got out of it and checked my SC folder and all that was there was SC and the version was 1.08.
I lost the old system so I am, trying to find out what I am suppose to do, or what alternative do I have.

Thanks,

If I'm not mistaken, SC from the NCP comes with the patch 1.08 already up to date. So there is no need to apply 1.08 at all. Maybe that's what's causing the problem.

Default Where do I place SCX and SCXIIc?

When i get the down load screen I have to browse and I have just been putting or trying to put SCX and SCXIIc in the SC folder. Do I need to place it in the Data Base?
Maybe even more to the point how long should it take to load the first set of files from the Black Screen because it goes all the way down and then just set there and flash like it is still loading.
Does anyone have the old SCX and SCXIIc downloads, where I just put them in myself?

Desperate in Idaho,
