I know what you're going for, but I really don't agree/think this is a good and related example.

It's a question of defining "hypersensitivity". If it's a movie made for adults and is rated 'R' (American rating for adults only), then you expect violence, sex and language. If it has been edited for commercial television, then I can understand they have standards that include not showing certain things to very young children.

Did the censoring you're complaining about appear in the movie as seen in the theater? Maybe the director had something in mind. I don't know. It was just your statement about preferring authenticity made me wonder what your limits might be, or if it only applied to what you wanted to see, and not somebody else's standard.

I also preffer authenticity over hypersensitivity.

But in the case of the Martian, only one S word and one F word were cruical to the plot compared to the book. If they removed it anywhere else rather than the ''first sentence'' and the famous ''science the... out of it'' nothing will be missing.

Watched Hannibal Rising last night clearly wanted revenge for his sisters death in 1944 on the war criminals but by the end of it clear the serial killer became the cold blooded calculating monster. Not bad telling the back story of the kid who became a monster.

Watched San Andreas last night.

Hated every minute of it. I only kept watching it because making fun of it was so entertaining.

2/10 is my top rating i'll allow for it.

I was thinking of seeing it, thank god for helpful advice from Nippelspanner I skipped that idea.

I have three movies I have planned to see-

1. Mad Max: Fury Road are available
2. Jurassic World are available
3. Terminator: Genisys available 5th November.

Are these 3 movies worth watching or should I forget some of them ?

Definitely Mad Max.
I didn't like it at all, I couldn't even finish it because it irritated me so much after ~20 minutes and I will try again some day but Terminator and Jurassic Park are both quite stupid in my opinion.

For Halloween I watched the remake of Fright Night. It was pretty good, and I loved David Tennant in Roddy McDowell's old role. It even had Chris Sarandon, the original Jerry Dandridge. The problem was that the pacing was off. It didn't have the same flow, or the same feel. I guess it would be better if I hadn't seen the original. As it is, it left me wanting to see the first one again.

Just saw Bridge of Spies with Tom Hanks. A must-see for any child of the '50's who back was ever against the wall or under a desk for nuclear survival drills at the school.
