I was really looking hard at this,

and this

but I already know my knees will never forgive me if I cram my feet onto those rear-set pegs.

Great choices though, especially the top one if you like some sporty touring and Suzukis are just solid bikes.
For the looks thought, that Kawa is a beauty.

One of the reason I finally sold my Triumph that the sitting comfort and mainly the seat height to the feet pegs was too short so my knees had to bend quite a bit and they protested after a day riding. Which got worse over the years so I found myself picking the Triumph less for a ride.

OH yeah those colours sold me in a blink of an eye, before I gave the V85TT a test ride I decided if I where to buy one it where to be those colours.

Slapped a raised windshield, side cases, crash bar around the cylinders , heated grips so I can ride off season as well in the mountains without the need of those annoying winter gloves and a Moto Guzzi MIA system which connects to the phone's app and allows the GPS to be directly streamed onto my dashboard on trips where I'd be using planned routes.

Got an uncle and aunt which are pretty much HD in every sense of the word untill recently, they changed bikes to something that provides more rider comfort as their age have caught up.

What one spends on a motorcycle is all up to the rider to value it's worth he/she gets out of it. I wouldn't spend 30.000 on something that tends to shake itself apart and requires tons of maintenance and knowledge to keep running but I know there's people out there that love every bit of it.
In our group, it is all a mixed bag as well. Probably typical of most rider groups. There is always good nature-ed trash talking with regards to the various machines they ride. My opinion has always been ride what you like and what makes you happy. I like the looks and performance of sport bikes. However, I wouldn't want one. They don't suit my style of riding / driving. I prefer stretched out Cruisers with a wheelbase of 65 or so inches. Add a good saddle and floorboards and highway pegs and you can cruise in comfort for hours.

@ Neal. You had mentioned riding discomfort. A friend had the same issues and traded in his fairly new Gold Wing on a fully dressed Can Am Spyder three wheeler. It has loads of storage with 2 hard shell saddle bags and storage trunks, fore and aft. The Spyder runs great and can keep up with anything. He feels that stability will become an issue in the future. The only drawbacks are that they get about 30mpg.

Trash talking being what is is, I call his Spyder a High Mobility Geriatric Scooter. I can tell he appreciates my assessment and comments on his new wheels.

Ha ha, I rode a few Spyders back when I was selling them. Not for me, if I cannot ride 2 wheels I'll just buy a Jeep, take the top off and roll the windows down

Reminds me of one of the MC Commandments: A motorcycle has two wheels, not three, not four. Motorcycle riders do not ride trikes, that's one wheel away from a Scooter Chair.

Laughs. My thoughts, exactly. I know a few people that feel if they can't ride on two wheels, they will ride with our group in a car and such. Many of them do, too.

That being said, I wouldn't mind having this three wheeler. It's a Campagna T-Rex

Pretty much, ride what you like, gives you comfort and confidence because nothing is worse then riding a bike that you like the looks but makes you nervous and uncomfortable.

and same here, I enjoy looking at other types of bikes I ride myself but I know they're just not for me. I envy the level of skill by those sport bikes that they're able to put their knee down onto the tarmac in corners but wouldn't want to try it myself. I like touring, I like taking it easy enjoying the sights while riding.

You guys may think you are great motorbike riders - but are you man enough to try the next level?

Ride a bike by levitation.
Reach the speed by imagination.
Get from here to there by going nowhere.

Almost a Haiku. Well, almost... Motorbikes awake the poet in me. LOL

I'm in the process of obtaining a Harley Davidson Soft Tail Frame. I will do work if necessary to get it like the Harley Heritage. I have a number of Harley gas tanks and other assorted parts. I want to configure the frame to hold a Yamaha 1700 Road Star Engine that I have. I will need to weld in new motor mounts once the engine and drive belt are completely lined up with the rear swing arm. I will add a tour pack when it's finished.

The Yamaha Engine is a twin cam, push rod engine just like the Harley's. The difference is the Yamaha Road Star Engine has ceramic liners in the Cylinders and the cam drive is all gear. The Harley's use a faulty Chain Drive system on their engines and the guides wear out at 15,000-20,000 miles, if you're lucky. This engine takes out the Oil drive and the engine grenades in a spectacular fashion. This requires an engine tear down to either replace the guides of if the engine grenades.

Harley knew they had a problem with their twin cam engines and never addressed the issues. To top it off, their bikes / Trikes with these engine cost anywhere between $ 25,000-$ 40,000 Dollars. The Harley Davidson Evolution engine made in the 90's is widely regarded as the best Engine Harley Davidson ever made.

The Harley Frame has a wheel base of about 67 inches. With a good saddle with a back rest, this bike should be a comfortable ride with a reliable power plant.
