Strong Russian Attrition inflicts heavy losses on Axis forces  The attrition by Russian troops was highly effective due to the difference between the two armies preparation for and experience in fighting in winter conditions. Germany loses two 4o6, an italian 2o5 as well as a lot of infantry The Russians managed to restore supply to an isolated pocket in the Kuybyshev area
