What a bummer Letum, you should have done what CaptainHaplo suggested on the second post and removed all boards and drives, then power up, this would or should have produced some post beeps.
Oh well, hopefully you get most of your money back, otherwise if the new board is better use that and sell the old one!

That was something I tried before the first post.
No post beeps because I was looking for sounds, not lights.

Oh well!! Atleast you found it, lets just hope that you can sell one of the boards for a decent price, I usually get very reasonable prices when selling on eBay, also check out the prices for a new GPU, just make sure the seller has a good high star rating, I have purchased 3 this way and very happy, also be aware that 5% are unreliable (don't receive goods), for this reason now I always make sure the expensive goods are posted either registered or insured!

Since your computer is less then a year old, don't you have a year warranty on its components might they break down?

Yea some mobo's have the little pizeo speaker built in, others do not. Without a speaker of some sort you will not get sounds.

Did you recently change video cards? Its possible that it may be drawing too much currrent on one yoke of the psu and the psu is shutting down in an overcurrent situation.

No, the video card has been in there for a while now without problems.

Besides, the PSU is a beefy 800watter.

Maybe so but that doesent mean a component cant fail to short and cause an overcurrent condition. Switching power supplies are odd things and pretty intolerant of overcurrent conditions.

Hey your kid dident try to jam a penut butter sandwich in there did he?

Good news.
The results came back for the GPU and it is faulty. They are sending a replacement.
Golly good!

Thankyou very much everyone who offered help and advice.

Good to hear...

A while back I ordered a machine from Ailenware (before they were assimilated) and the video card died in the first month. They (Ailenware) responded that they no longer had that particular card and would have to settle for a new better card

Well that one died too just inside of warrantee believe it or not and again I had to settle for a new more powerful replacement.

I dont suppose you will get that kind of support out of Ailenware any more.
