Default SH5 crashes computer

Okay, I haven't been able to play for 10 minutes through yet, as when I'm playing, my whole computer just shuts down. This has happened 10 times, and I don't understand why.

I meet the recommended specs, I have updated drivers, downloaded the patch, and not losing internet connection.

No mods installed, just stock SH5 with patch.

System Specs:

Manufacturer: Gateway
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T5550 @ 1.83GHz (2 CPUs), ~1.8GHz
Memory: 4094MB RAM
Hard Drive: 320 GB
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8800M GTS
Monitor: Generic PnP Monitor
Sound Card: Speakers (High Definition Audio Device)
Speakers/Headphones:
Keyboard: USB Root Hub
Mouse: USB Root Hub
Mouse Surface:
Operating System: Windows Vista™ Home Premium (6.0, Build 6002) Service Pack 2 (6002.vistasp2_gdr.091208-0542)

Your system doesn't meet the recommended specs, it's actually slightly below(CPU) or on par(GPU) with the minimum specs and probably working hard to run the game. Crashing after a set time sounds either like a temperature problem or a power problem. What kind of PSU do you have?

related to this ? http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=163292

Shut downs often means temp probs.

Hmm, I'll look into the temp probs, definitely could be the culprit.

Thanks!

-use lavalys everest tool to monitor tempps and report them back "shortly before crashing"

-clean PC

-your system seems to be more than 3 years old, and as a gamer, run long andd hard sessions?
redo all the temperature guiding paste between chipsets and coolers?

Same Probs here !!!!

XP SP3
Core 2 Duo 6400
2gig ram
ATI 3850 div drivers tested
all other drivers and DX9 are uptodate

absolutly no temp problems, Board stais below 39°C, GPU around 49°C, CPU @41°C

After many tests, managed to get the error redoable. Each time the escorts get active, just in that moment.... BSOD. Tryed many missions and campaign, played for hours, sinking dozens of frighters with no probs @ all, but as soon the escorts get active it takes the same end .... bsod

Don`t forget to clean the fan of your videocard.

I do use rivatuner to keep my system cool.

Here is a tutorial how to use it,
