Tiny update...

New backside look!

Test assembly for tubecutting and thinking of cable routing...

The missing RAM, you ask?
They are drying after the circuit boards have been painted white!

Not when overclocking your gear. Or if you want it to run both cool and quiet... or simply like bling!

Once the system has been thoroughly checked, all three GPUs will be overclocked to 900/1300MHz and CPU will be overclocked to 3.8 or 4.0 GHz to keep up with graphics.

The 5970 likes to run some 65-70 degree C even with the Arctic Extreme air cooler - stock cooler saw it running +80 degree!

On water I expect everything stays well under 40 degree...

Here's how the loop runs btw. - radiator and pump located in external case (will show later):

The market for watercooling has never been bigger than it is today, some links to enjoy:

I have no desire to overclock my cpu or video card but if I were then water cooling would be an option I could get into.

If you're going to use spray paint, make sure things not supposed to be painted are:

1. covered
2. moved outside paint zone
3. not your own stuff
4. same colour as paint

After spraying brackets and DVD-cover white, I suddenly see the camera was still on the shop desk... CSI Esbjerg at work:

The result...

At least it's not my own camera, but borrowed from a friend.

Perhaps I can convince him, it's old dust and really his own fault since he never have cleaned it properly?

Or should I simply tell him the truth and reveal I'm an idiot...

I prefer the Truth... And i think you had to buy a new one. You can try to clean this, but it is really difficould (my old Monitor looks like the Camera too

).
B.t.w., i would never put Water in my holy PC. One tiny Hole in the Hull and Shes going down.

But it looks nice and clean.

Nah, nothing will happen. The cooling liquid is non-conductive and with a little care when you assemble the parts, it'll be tight from the start

And it's not like you'll find thousands of links when you search google for leaks...

But have a tiny update.

The camera is now nice and clean again after use of propylalchohol and lots of elbow grease.
Thank you Nikon for making the brilliant rubber coating!

And Carsten, the camera owner, only rolled of laughter when he saw the pics

Had a little set-back with the pc. It turned out that the loop was way too restrictive = very little flow through the system.

Have now removed cooling heads for MOSFETs, North- and Southbridge:

Obsessive or not - the RAM looks so much better now...

And of course the cooling fins looks great in black too!

I did spend an evening searching the marked for a new camera house. Cheapest I could find was a second-hand at some $200...

Decided to take the risk and first tested on a bottom corner. Only thing that would bite was as said propyl alchohol.
Used two new rags for the procedure. First wetting the area with one cloth, then lots of rubbing with the dry cloth.
What a relief to see the fine "dust" go off

Took some two hours to finish the job...

Don't understand why die frau thinks water cooling is messy? Can't remember seeing a cleaner and dryer pc ever

From the dismounting party... the towels and papercloths are only safety precautions, not a drop of liqued was spilled

New leaktests to be performed later today... brb

But while taking a break and enjoying all cabling in case is finally finished...

... he suddenly realised, he couldn't live with this sight after all!

Rebuild #67.2A underway!

Will bolt cooling box to case and let tubings run through bottom of case/top of cooling box instead.

Isn't this a lovely hobby to have?
