Spending renown on torpedoes

Hey guys, If I buy a torpedo using renown, did I buy it only for the next patrol or it will stay untill the end of the war, even if I change base?

to answer your question, you bought THAT torpedo.
you will have found out by now that you will "spend" renown on each torpedo that has a cost > zero.
depending on the Mod(s) that you are using, the renown cost of a torpedo may decrease as time passes.

Personally I do not agree with having to buy any equipment.
It is not realistic.
New Equipment would be made available as soon as it would become available depending on resources.
I always up my renown to around 20,000.
Changing your renown is the same procedure for both SH4 and SH5.
I currently have a SH5 tutorial/pictorial if you are interested.

As posted, you buy each fish you load, and the cost decreases with time and newer torpedo options...

A recently discovered semi-hack is that if I refit with Type 18 (my favorite, but costly) torpedoes at the sub tender at Mios Woendi on the return trip to Fremantle, I don't need to add torpedoes from the Fremantle stores, and my renown isn't debited...

If I read that right, if I refit on the way back to home port to end patrol, I will have all my previously selected torpedoes installed on board.
I've always noticed that I have ALL Mk 14's when I go to check torpedo load, even if I had a MK 18 left over.

I'm running 1.5 with TMOwtw

Using V1.5 stock.
When I stopped to get fuel at the sub tender at Mios Woendi on the way back to Fremantle, the Mk 18s were replenished during the refit. I can't swear to it, but IIRC it was before their renown cost went to zero, and my renown back at Fremantle was unchanged.
