REECE I'm going to go with Arclight but in a slightly different direction.

You said your not flush in first post.

Even the $175.00 is a bit of a reach.

Save up a bit until you can get over the $200.00 + hump

Then alot of cards are open to You. . And good for years to come until Complete New boild.

Yes, I would prefer the better card but my patience is another factor, this time of the year is everyone's birthdays (one of our Granddaughters is next week) so I would be going to save for a bigger card and PSU, I think I know what the wife will say, plus she has basically given me a nod for the $175 but even then I will have to wait a couple of weeks, she has $100 there at the moment and will be a fortnight before the next pay! Her birthday is August 12 so I also have to save for that!
Anyway I'm sure you're not interested in my dirty laundry!!

Patience ? I still recommend " Do the dirty laundry" and save.

In the long run you'll be glad you did.

You won't be back here in a year or so going thru the same thing Buddy.

AND buy for Warranty. 1yr is almost the same as NO Warranty.

Good Luck Reece

Im very impressed with my 6850, and it overclocks usually to performance similar to the 6870 if you dont mind getting your hands dirty.

Really good bang for buck.

From a review:
Quote:
At over 1GHz the HD 6850 is just a beast; you can see it's got some serious performance and really the HD 6870 at over 1GHz isn't that much faster. The value on the HD 6850 just sky rockets when you start to tip 1GHz and there's no denying that the clock is helped along with that Windforce cooler.

I couldn't help myself FIREWALL, I placed an order!!

Well I got it and pleased although I'm having problem getting a manual fan speed controller to work, it always annoys me that they produce a card with excellent fan speed control only to stuff it up on the next version!
