It is so warm at the rear of the property I've actually turned the shower hose on myself for the first time in many a year.

Some of the reason being because of the shock after having spoke to the dental assistant on the phone earlier and the cost of five appointments including extractions, fillings and partial dentures could nigh on purchase a new car

Got back from a hot walk around Lincoln City. We almost didn't get there: I came round a bend near Wrangle and there was a car right in front... coming our way! I hit the brakes and got the nose onto the hard-shoulder just as this bastard managed to pull in front of the van he was overtaking.

Anyway later, walking up towards the bottom of Steep Hill in the City, I started instinctively to clench my fists ready for a punch-up as I felt someone barge into the back of me then start clawing at my shirt and pants. I spun round and there was Moira, face down on the pavement. I even thought for a moment "Who is this strange woman, I better help her up" as lots of other nice folk closed in from all around, offering to get her a drink and a chair and stuff. She's fine, though... said she didn't hit her head, just lost bits from her bracelet (lucky it wasn't some teeth).

Prepared two mojitos, now sitting in the garden and watching the cat play. Thank god it's a bit cooler now.

Icon14 ^ Mojito: from my garden

(Basil from my garden) About 10 large basil leaves, 1/4 cup plus 4 tsp. superfine sugar, 1/4 cup lime juice 1/2 cup white rum; About 1/2 cup cold club soda ;Lime wedges.... the weather is 100F. + today so nothing better to do! "superfine" sugar can be made in blender from regular sugar http://www.epicurious.com/expert-advice/how-to-make-your-own-superfine-powdered-and-brown-sugars-article or, as for my Buorbon 'old fashions': Simple syrup I cup sugar to 1 cup water: boiled and cooled in bottles-no muddled sugar cubes on glass bottom! and cheaper than storebought.

@ Aktung: Basil leaves :
Well, maybe, just maybe i will try this out

My receipt, ymmv:

1 lime fruit, cut in 8 parts
8-10 orange mint leaves (also from the garden here)
(never use peppermint, you'll find out why lol, some use spearmint but not me - don't like it)
1 barspoon of brown cane sugar
2 cl cane sugar 'bar syrup'
1,5 cl lime juice
4 cl rum Havana club white (or s.t. similar)
2 cl rum Barceló or (or ron Amazonas dolce, for colour and taste)
fill up with soda, but let room for
crushed ice

And this is why i do not only take powderered sugar:
Put the mint leaves in a glass, add the brown sugar, add lime juice and the syrup, add rum.
Then take a spoon or a muddler and gently press the leaves against the corny sugar, so the aromes will get into the fluid, but not the bitter leave substance. Do not "shred" the leaves for same reason.

I like the crusta rim, never tried that on a mojito because i use a straw, but will try this

Currently sweating on two very expensive bids on models over on evilbay which are due to come to a conclusion whilst I'm at work tonight.

I hate not being in control and leaving matters to guesswork.

Getting ready to go play an afternoon gig in a park. Should be fun (at least the band will have shade).
