Light armor. Always light armor. Here's hoping that there are some decent archery overhauls.

Giddy with excitement.

My... my disc just dropped in the mail... you wouldn't believe the idiotic grin on my face right now.

Wonder if it will run.

* ah, guess not. Steam required. Oh well, new hardware arrives today as well, at least a chance to install that.

You mean you went like this when you saw the package?

That is more accurate than I would care to admit.

Then the thought of 'steamworks intergration' flickered through my mind, checked the back of the box and I was like .

It's kinda cruel; it's payed for, complete, got the box in my hand and the disc in the drive but some thingy pops up saying I can't install it yet.

I decided on Heavy armor for the defense bonus, I am more likely to be in close up, hand to hand combat than anything long ranged.

From what I've seen of the perk chart for Archery, it looks a lot better. Although Archery has been moved into the Combat section compared to the sneak section it was in Oblivion.

Speaking of changes to the skills, they've dropped Blunt, blade, acrobatics, athletics, mercantile, armorer, and mysticism.

Blunt and Blade either fit into One-handed or Two-handed skills. Mysticism was rolled into Alteration, armorer turned into smithing and mercantile was rolled into speech. There is a bonus to hand to hand in the Heavy armor tree. I can't see any traces of Acrobatics or athletics in any of the trees, so I think they were just dropped completely.

Finally, there is a new skill tree called pick-pocketing, which when maxed out, it turns you into a kleptomaniac. You can steal weapons right out of enemies hands with it. Much like Ernie the klepto from this commercial:

I'm starting to plot out my character now, as while you can eventually get all your skills leveled, and thus get all the perks, there is a soft-level cap at 50. After level 50 it becomes increasingly hard to attain the next level. Meaning that you'd have to grind the skills you don't want/necessarily use. Assuming you stop leveling at 50, you only have 49 perks points at your disposal.

*Sticks fingers in ears* Lalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalala I can't hear you!

I think I'm going to have to run away from this thread every time I see it until I get the game in a couple of days.

Agreed. I've been avoiding all the videos and discussions of actual gameplay elements this long, I think I'll continue to do so.

See you guys in two days!

Well I don't mind seeying a trailer to get me even more hyped but these ''showcasing the game for 30 minutes or let's play before everyone else'' I'll avoid.

I've noticed that most "Let's play before everyone else videos" seem to be about as spoiling as much as possible in as little time as possible. They seem to rush through the game, which is not how I'll play at all.

I hope the content I posted so far hasn't spoiled the game for anyone. It wasn't what I was intending to do, and I tried to avoid the content that I myself found spoilerish. But I guess that's part of the issue, what I find as a spoiler may not be what someone else finds as a spoiler.

It wasn't spoilerish at all Spike and for those of us who are waiting for the game, we will just have to wait until we get it. We can't expect everyone not to post spoilers for the sake of a few of us It's us without the game that will just have to refrain looking into this thread until we get it

And Australia breaks yet another street date. Seems like the fashionable thing to do down here.

Not that it helps anyone who picks it up for PC, they're all still locked out until midnight. And why would anyone not play it on PC? Mods make the game so much more fun.

Kinda did the same thing here. Got it through mail-order though; they tend to send it a day early to make sure everyone has it at release day. (normally mail takes 1 day, but it might be delayed)

Infinite quests! Well, guess we already knew that with what they told us about the system, still nice to see it properly confirmed though: http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/11/09/th...s-says-howard/
