Oberon - she's at Manston next Saturday, no rolls but just to hear her is enough to make every hair stand on end. Plans are going well for a further two seasons after this but money is always an issue.

They used to say that the Vulcan could be thrown around the sky like a fighter a third of its size. Able to dodge Delta Daggers and other USAF interceptors during Skyshield and later exercises. Beautiful aircraft.

I doubt I'll get to see her again since the local airshow was rolled up, but I consider myself lucky to have seen a Vulcan three times in my life.

Not sure if I've posted this before, but salvaged this from my Google Video account:
F35 vs. J10 Battlefield 2 dogfight:

(Me in F35 vs. random pub in J10)

Who hasnt played BF2: J10 could evade missiles by simply turning hard, but I got
lucky this time.

Too bad I lost my air-to-air kills BF2 vid, that was pretty cool.

Love that game!

Here's my channel. Most of my videos are Rise of Flight and IL2 Cliffs of Dover.

I've got a new video (probably my most explosive) uploading while I post

Another gem from Ralfi.

Contains some swearing:

His 'ships and giggles' (my edit) videos are worth checking out too.

These were worth a watch.

Well done.

If the Huey's a-rocking, don't come knocking.

Edit - and as for your air taxi and landing - are you certain that's you? No damage, not even a scrape of the concrete!

Shows how bad idea it is to start thinking of something else ("Mmm... should go and buy some beer for tonight..."
as you are landing.

Heey!

It's actually not so hard after awhile. Just need to remember to give more power
as the shaking starts. What I had difficulties when I started was the fact that
it feels like you are going down no matter how much collective you give,
so I gave too much collective. But once you get down low enough and the ground
effect kicks in, it stops your descend and leaves you to a hover.

Now, I just need to learn to hit something from a distance with the weapons
and I'm all set!

EDIT: Those with X52 (no idea if it's the same for the pro version), on landing,
I find that when the shaking starts, raising the physical X52 collective to the
farthest "notch" (when it feels a bit stiffer) before 100% is enough to stop
the descend enough for the ground effect to catch you. Guess it's about 75-80% or something.

The wonky thing there is that I use the same amount of collective for cruise. Really used to using a lot less collective in flight from the Ka-50, pretty big switch flying the Huey.

Of course it depends of your loadout, but without weapons, I use about 50% and
just trim it so that it kinda keeps the altitude. I won't even try to trim it so that
I can just fly without touching the stick or collective. I just try to get it "close enough"
and adjust when needed.

Remember the video where I showed how well the KA-50 can fly without rudder?
Here's another one, this time without the whole tail section.

PS. Fix your Kamov, ED!

Hi folks - vid for you -

I know it's not a flight sim, but this is the real-life version of what I do in every DCS helicopter.

And Take On.

And Arma.

I didn't see a vortex ring state ending in a crash...are you quite sure it's what you do with every DCS helicopter?

Actually, I don't think I'd have gone over the pylons or the bridge.

Cue - clip, spin, crash, burny, die, figure out how to start her up again on the pan 80 miles away from where I want to be. So yeah, nothing like.
