@Commander

Thank you as well. I've seen quite many music threads in different web forums, but nothing as good as this.

@ Commander Wallace re Allman brothers, Live at the Fillmore East

There's a record I played a lot. It's interesting that a number of band members relatives have followed in their fathers' and uncles' footsteps. Devon Allman, Gregg's son and Duane Betts, Dickie's son are both accomplished guitarists. Devon has played with the Allman Bros. Band and Duane with his fathers' band Dickey Betts & Great Southern. The most well known Allman offspring though is Derek Trucks who is drummer Butch Trucks' nephew. An accomplished slide guitarist much influenced by Duane Allmans' playing he too was a member of the long running Allman Bros. band. His own band The Derek Trucks Band won a Grammy for Best Contemporary Blues Album in 2010. His current band, The Tedeschi Trucks Band also won a Grammy in 2012. The bands lead singer/guitarist Susan Tedeschi is Dereks' wife. They have a son and a daughter.

I have the Allman Brothers-Live at the Fillmore East Album on CD as well, Marcel. I'm glad it's not on vinyl as It would have been worn out long ago. Allman Brothers-Live at the Fillmore East is widely regarded as one of the best if not the best live album of all time. Many aspiring guitarists and musicians learned through that album that you could play melodically and slow, not fast and furious and still get your point across.

You are so right with regards to relatives and friends of the Allman's moving on to careers in music of their own. How could they not being around talent like the Allman's ? Derek Trucks collaborates on a regular basis with Eric Clapton and others that recognize and play Blues based music.

Susan Tedeshi has played with double trouble, Stevie Ray Vaughan's band. I think they recognize Susan for the talent and dynamo that she is. Susan can play the guitar and rock out with the best of them. Great song that you posted by the way, Marcel.
This is one of the first Susan Tedeshi songs I had ever heard. Susan does a lot of other great tunes as well.

Yep. I have played along with and listened to In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed enough times that I can to this day run through it in my mind note for note.

"A song written by Dickie Betts from our second album ..ah.. In Memory of Elizabeth Reed .... alright gentlemen.. one two one two three...."
