Critical flooding. Stuck on bottom at 90m. Any hope?
I was lining up a stern shot on a Norwiegian-flagged cargo ship 45km north of the northern coast of England on a clear night in September of 1940. I let two electric torpedoes go, let my speed remain at 2knts in reverse, and watched through the periscope.
Just over one minute later there was a horrendous explosion. I started taking heavy flooding in the control room, radio and listening room, and bow torpedo room. Flank speed and blowing ballast had no effect. I ended up bottomed in 90m of water. And there I sit. First, I'm almost in shock. The ship was alone. It was night, so no airplanes, right? Was this a circular-run? Second, is there any hope here? Hull damage says "000", the three rooms mentioned above are completely flooded. Before flooding was complete it said "repair time 53 minutes, flood time 2 minutes." Is it worth it to wait, or is this a lost cause? |

Sounds like a circle runner to me.
Is bulkhead damage for the three flooded rooms @1 or is it a decimal point like ..73 or .90, something like that. If the Bulkhead damage is any amount less then 1, then I would stick it out and see if repairs are made and the flooding is under control.

for bulkhead damage it doesn't seem to matter if it's 1 or 0.99 damage.
I would wait a few minutes and see if it's repairable. If it's only getting worse or you run out of fuel, reload. Otherwise, just play on.

If you hit the ground while having flodding in OM you will bump into the ground over and over which will cause additional damage and destroy the boat. At least that´s what I´ve been experiencing.
