Default Has anyone ever been to this place?

Back in December 2016 i went to Moscow one of the places i visited was Monino air museum here in side this place they have some of the most unique and astounding aircraft that can be found no where else in the world the usual fulcrums flankers backfires and bears are there but how about the Mach 3 SU100 Sotka bomber? or the M50 bounder with the M4 Bison?

Read my story about the journey into the heart of Russian aviation the two part blog details my thoughts feelings and gives you tips on visiting the place.

Awesome!
I'm glad there are people here who get to do some of the things I can't. It's great to read about pieces of history which are still available to us.

I built a vacuform kit of the Myasishchev M-4 back in the early '80s. It was the Russian equivalent to the B-52 and the three British 'V' bombers (Avro Vulcan, Handley-Page Victor and Vickers Valiant), and to me is one of the best looking early jet bombers.

I could never go that far to see what you have seen Kapitan

Thanks for sharing

Looks a bit cold like it should be of course after all it is Russia in December, plus one nice point about the Russian bombers is that they were never used against the USA in war time.

Do you know if Russia has ever used it's warplanes after the Korean conflict (using Chinese pilots that is)?

Yes there were most definitely Russian pilots flying Mig 25 Foxbats over Israel using Syrian and Egyptian markings that's where the west realized these aircraft could hit Mach 3.2, but it is known they did participate in the 6 day war and Yom Kippur flying the reconnaissance versions.

I also am aware that Russian pilots did fly missions in Vietnam for the Viet cong as well, there are loose roomers as well about Soviet pilots in Angola (i cannot find any credible source to date for this so i suggest take that with a pinch of salt).
