Default Firefox install

Getting some problems online with various online stores, they used to work, old IE 6 works so I'm upgrading from version 2. When installing do I just leave the old one in and install over it or uninstall the old first?
Thanks

From version 2?
Certainly time to upgrade, just install from Firefoxe's website the updated version, save exe to desktop, click and it will overwrite the existing install, no need to uninstall previous version.
3.6.3 is current version.
No problems here.
Ensure you have your plugins installed, eg. Shockwave Flash, Java, to view sites that have flash etc.

Installed/upgraded, I had the latest versions of Flash & Java, hopefully I don't have to touch that, I dare say I'll get a message if there is a problem. It's very slow but maybe because it has to setup cookies etc, also had to sign in to Subsim manually, hopefully I don't have to do this each time!
Thanks, upgraded smoothly!

EDIT: I just noticed that all of my bookmarks are old, I've lost a lot of stuff, anyway to get them back?

Strange about the bookmarks being gone...if it's just a upgrade for Firefox, normally your bookmarks stay with you, at least was the case with me and has been throughout upgrades so far.
Also when upgrading, keep in mind Firefox should actually tell you whilst you are online and browser open that a new upgrade is available, this includes plugins and themes too.
Changes take effect once Firefox restarted.
Re bookmarks, there is a program called Ez Firefox Backup, shareware though, i did have a copy but lost it due to a re-install.
Strange also about your passwords being gone, unless of course you don't have the option ticked in the Options menu to remember browsing history, which in turn saves your passwords, even when just upgrading.
Here's a good link to export and save your bookmarks:

here's a link for getting old bookmarks back as well as saving:

hope this helps.

Thanks I'll give it a go, I did first off go within firefox to Help/Check for Updates, this then started an update to the latest version 2 so upgrading to 3 may be different, funny that it just put an old bookmarks list probably about 12 months old in!
EDIT: This version is definitely slower, anyone know any tweaks?

Nice of you to ask so I don't have to start a topic. I just removed some add-ons that were cute but I guess were slowing Firefox down and was able to speed up Firefox a little I hope. I kept getting these serious slowdowns every now and then that almost brought the CPU to a halt.

Only thing I can suggest is to keep Firefox to a bare minimum in terms of add-ons, or at least use them on a need-to-use basis. Can't really think of anything else.

Another annoyance is when opening to a new tab it used to move to the far right of opened tabs, now it opens to the next closest position, wonder if this can be changed?
