Dan Jarvis was being suggested for Labour - ex Para, untainted by Blair, Iraq and the rest. He has ruled himself out due to wanting to look after his children and that is probably indirectly a wise move: the next leader will have a hard time, I think (Jarvis can come in later).

There are two problems with Chuka Umunna first he is dark skin, please don't jump all over me shouting raciest I am not. Second problem he is a Muslim, lets say he dose become leader can you see the British voters voting for him? The way the general view point is in the UK I would say Tories will win the 2020 election.

Socialism did step over the mark and needed a good slap but as you say Oberon it got almost buried. We do need a left wing party but without going too far. The Labour party needs too find the right balance in modern UK or we will have three party's like Coca~cola.

Coca~cola diet = Tories

Not much point voting for them if they all taste the same apart from the amount of sugar in them.

Scots Cons - centre-centre right .
Scots Lib-Dems - centre left
SNP - centre left.
Scots Labour - has to go left of the SNP if it wants to get Glasgow back.
Scots Greens - further left.
Scottish Socialist/Radical Independence Campaign - further left still.

I think you can see the problem - no balance!

This is from a government that got 36.9% share of the vote! In my way of thinking I don't think they have any right to pass new laws.

Green Party leader Natalie Bennett has suggested she would be "happy" to work with Ukip to push for electoral reform.
The Greens received 1.1 million votes at the general election, while Ukip finished with almost four million - but both parties ended up with just one MP each.
After the results came in, Ms Bennett and Ukip leader Nigel Farage - who both failed to win a seat - spoke of their frustration at the first-past-the-post system.

The FPTP system is without question out of date and time for it too go. It's no longer a three party race it's a six party race.
