Thats what I call a durable light bulb.

But one light bulb for 22+ million Brits? A bit dark at night, isn't it? Do they stand in line at night and wait for their turn to hold it for a split of a second?

After Brexit it might be all we can afford

Henryk Broder, whom I repeatedly referred to in the past, was invited by the AfD to hold a speech. And he did. This it, and it is good, and as Broderian as Broder gets.

https://www.welt.de/debatte/henryk-m...sfraktion.html

I have not checked the bot translation of it, I assume it looses plenty of the witty humour, maybe does not even make sense. For whatever its worth, here is the English bot translation.

I guess Broder underestimates the goals of the AfD, and especially Mr. Hoecke. Broder might be in for a surprise if the AfD ever gets the majority.

He does not underestimate them at all.

He just understands two things that escapes all the moral apostles and "Empörte": first, that enforced, sanctioned-for consent is not freedom and pluralism, but tyranny, and second that the way they try to not deal with the AfD but just demonising them without proving them wrong point by point, is impotent, and childish.

The bot translates:

" The proportion of foreign prisoners in German prisons has reached new record levels in all federal states.

This reports the Düsseldorf "Rheinische Post" (Monday) on the basis of a survey of the 16 state justice ministers.

In Berlin and Hamburg, more than every second inmate comes from abroad. The proportion of foreigners in the new federal states is also rising rapidly.

The strongest groups were prisoners from Poland, Tunisia, Libya, the Czech Republic and Georgia. In western countries, the proportion of foreigners has risen from 55 to 61 in Hamburg since 2016, from 43 to 51 in Berlin, from 29 to 33 in Lower Saxony, from 26 to 30 in Rhineland-Palatinate, from 44 to 48 in Baden-Württemberg, in Bremen from 35 to 41, in Schleswig-Holstein from 28 to 34, in the Saarland from 24 to 27 percent. Hesse already recorded a share of 44.1 percent three years ago, climbing slightly to 44.6 percent. Bavaria registered an increase from 31 to 45 percent since 2012.

The prison authorities pay particular attention to prisoners with Islamist backgrounds. "The number of prisoners who have become conspicuous because of their Islamist sentiment, has risen sharply in the past two years," reports the Stuttgart Minister of Justice Guido Wolf (CDU). Until 2016, it was only a single-digit number, in the course of 2017, it was depending on the time between 20 and 30, now 45. "

scource: https://www.focus.de/politik/deutsch..._10276454.html

The national verage share of foerginers living in Germany, was around 16% in Spring 2018. This excludes German households with migraiton backgrounds that meanwhile got German passports.

Thus the crime rate of foreigners tell us that foreigners are massively overrepresented against Germans in the crime scene.

---

To complete the record:

" Just under one in four people in Germany has a migration background - in western Germany just over every fourth, in East Germany every fifteenth person (2017: 26.5 or 6.8 percent). In terms of the federal states, most people with a migration background live in North Rhine-Westphalia (26.2 percent). Their share of the population is highest in Bremen (32.0 percent). Of all persons with a migrant background, around two thirds have immigrated themselves and one third have been born in Germany (68.4 or 31.6 per cent). Just over half of people with a migration background are Germans (51.1 percent). In the medium term, the proportion of people with a migration background will continue to increase: in 2017, 39.1 percent of all children under the age of five had a migrant background.

facts
In 2017, 19.3 million of the total of 81.7 million inhabitants in Germany had a migration background (immigrants and their descendants). Of these 19.3 million people were 9.8 million Germans and 9.4 million foreigners (51.1 and 48.9 percent).

A good two-thirds of people with a migration background - 13.2 million or 68.4 percent - were themselves migrants in 2017 (first generation). The persons with their own migration experience are divided into foreigners (41.2 percent) and Germans (27.2 percent) - together the mentioned 68.4 percent. People without their own migration experience, ie second- or third-generation migrants, accounted for just under one third of people with a migrant background (31.6 percent). This group is divided into Germans without their own migration experience (23.9 percent) and foreigners who were also born in Germany (7.7 percent).

The Germans with their own migration experience (27.2 percent of all persons with a migration background) are divided into self-immigrated (late) Aussiedler (14.8 percent), even immigrant naturalized (10.5 percent) as well as immigrant adoptees and German-born ( 0.2 or 1.6 percent). The Germans with a migration background but without their own migration experience (23.9 percent of all persons with a migration background) can also be divided: The two groups naturalized (2.8 percent) and adoptees (0.1 percent) are significantly smaller than the group of as German born (21.1 percent). The latter are, for example, children of naturalized, German children of foreign parents or children of (late) Aussiedlern.

In 2017, 95.6 percent of people with a migrant background lived in West Germany and Berlin. More than one in four people with a migrant background lived in North Rhine-Westphalia (26.2 percent), about every sixth in Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria (17.5 or 15.9 percent). In terms of the respective population of the federal states, their share was in the city states of Bremen (32.0 percent), Hamburg (30.6 percent) and Berlin (29.4 percent) as well as in Hesse (31.1 percent), Baden-Württemberg. Württemberg (30.9 percent) and North Rhine-Westphalia (28.4 percent) are the highest. In East Germany, the proportion of persons with a migration background in the total population was only 6.8 percent (West Germany with Berlin: 26.5 percent, Germany: 23.6 percent).

59.9 percent of all migrants lived in urban areas in 2017, and 13.0 percent in rural areas. At the community level, the larger the population of the community, the greater is the tendency for the percentage of people with a migrant background in the total population. For example, while the share in communities with less than 2,000 inhabitants in 2017 was 8.0 percent, In the municipalities with 20,000 to less than 50,000 inhabitants, on average about every fourth person had a migration background (24.4 percent). In the municipalities with 500,000 inhabitants or more, the corresponding proportion was 32.7 percent.

In the medium term, the proportion of people with a migration background will continue to increase: In 2017, 39.1 percent of all children under the age of five in Germany had a migrant background - in the group of 35- to under-45s, the proportion was 30 in the same year , 9 percent and 8,9 percent among 85- to under-95s.

Europe is particularly important for migration in Germany: 36.0 percent of the 19.3 million people with a migrant background in 2017 came from one of the 27 other member states of the European Union, another 31.9 percent from another European state. Most of the 19.3 million people with a migrant background came from Turkey (14.4 percent) in 2017, followed by Poland (10.9 percent), Russia (7.2 percent), Italy and Romania (4.5 percent each) Percent). Kazakhstan and Syria are the most important non-European countries of origin with shares of 6.4 and 3.7 percent, respectively."

These are just official numbers of the last microcensus. They do not cover illegal migrants and the hidden migration. Depending on whom you ask these would chnage the number sa bit, or quite signifdicantly, but they seem to be big enough to make a noteicable difference any way.

While this is not a good development i wonder how much of those strongest groups from Poland, Tunisia, Libya, Czech Republic and Georgia are "islamists" or terrorists of any kind? I take it they are good old criminals and thugs. I just wonder why they were allowed to immigrate if most of the countries named above do not pose a threat to life to their own people in case of detention.

However, these are the high-rofile Islamist cases only, not the ordinary radical and also not covered are those who get infested with Islam while actually being in prison. Insiders say this dangers gets dramatically underestiamted.

Compare to the dramatic spreading of Salafism in Germany.

The German lien registration authority sdays 30-40 percent of deported asylum seekers just return to germany short time later again. The interior ministry admits that the numbers is "plausible."

Efforts to prevent this: unknown.

Maybe instead of overpriced and uncompetitively dirty LGT gas we should import wall elements made in the US? Me thinks we at least get more value for money that way.

So the German Defence minister is worried that as the RAF retires it's Tornado fleet the price of spares for those still in service in Germany will rise considerably.
She could, of course, offer to buy ours off us, I would think 39 Billion Euro would do the trick!

An interesting animation visualizing the movement patterns of inner-German migration from 1990-2017. Its not about forign migraiton, but the movement of Eastergermans to Westgerman federal states, and since recently: vice versa. The animation shows a map for every year, years can be selected under the map. Yellow sparks show East-West movement, blue shows West-East movement.

Interesting discussion by German greens. They are just now realising that Ukraine has a nuclear dimension.
