Default interior modding

Hey everyone, I've had SH4 since about 2007 and have a little experience modding other games doing 3d art (although I haven't done 3d stuff in quite a while) so I decided to run this question through you guys.

With free camera I've noticed that both the conning tower and command room interiors are rendered in game at the same time. This basically means that in theory we could move the conning tower interior to be above the command room. Which, with a little tweaking of the 3d models, would allow one to look down into the command room through the conning tower hatch and vice versa.

My question to the powers that be is what exactly is required for this to become reasonable? I have Silent 3ditor and have poked around a bit with it, though I do not have that much knowledge of how to use it. I don't have a lot of time but I wouldn't mind trying to take a stab at this if it is even possible

You'd need to blend the CR and CT dats and all files connected to start.
Those are in the Interior/Sub whatever folder.

Not trying to torpedo your thread (pun intended, lol), but years ago someone was working on highly detailed sub interiors for US boats. Looked as though work was moving along nicely, with wonderful WIP shots. Crew berthing compartment was rendered. The Goat Locker and Officer's Quarters. WIP Wire frame of the Engine Room and Torpedo compartments. The full monty.

Then, nothing.

All contact lost.

Whatever happened to that? Looked like quite epic work at the time. Did the project die off?

That was Captain America's project. It looked to be first rate.

I hate to say this, but I suspect health issues terminated the project. AFAIK, nobody has heard from him.
