Hello if the new sh comes out in wich time you would like to play
Personnaly i would like in ww1 it will be hard game explore first war subs and you could choose to play as central powers or allied triple antente,USA ,Royal Navy ,Russia...
The modern war it would be too easy radars, sonars guided misslies/torpedoes
WW2: well it would be fun but we got aleardy ww2
Cold war: Well it would be nice to see first jet fighters attacking your first nuclear sub :P

The question is interesting, I myself is versatile,(if there is time for games) and the times it's about Sub.then the choice becomes easy, SH3 + GWX3, also tried the SH4 and SH5 and DW!

If Ubi isn't going to make it I'd be all for a Cold War subsim. But after the debacle that is/was SH5, I don't think we will see anymore of the series.

I'd like to see something that plays as well as Aces of the Deep and looks as good as SH5.

People complain about coming back to WW2, but it hasn't been done right yet.

I again concur with the sentiment that there will not be a Silent Hunter VI. The modders of Silent Hunter V, IV and III remain our greatest hope.

EDIT: Try your hand at Dangerous Waters and see if you think that the modern gagets are easy to use.

Easy? Its never been easier!

I don't know how you dinosaurs operate without Narrow band filters and DEMON.

Sometimes I think you just wander around in circles waiting to stumble on an enemy convoy...

Excuse me? The fact that you would sink to such a level to compare WWII simmers to the blind, stubling around aimlessly in circles. Circles!?!?!?! The audacity of your self-assuredness.

We stumble about in X-shaped patterns, thank you very much.

In seriousness, I was refering to the typical response that occurs when a guy used to playing period sims tries a modern simulator. The first question is usually, 'Um.....what does this thing do?", followed by "Okay.....how do I make it work?"

Then they are presented with a screen much like this...

... which is followed by a "Oh god what have I gotten my self in too?

How little you know!
We don't wander in Circles but in Patterns ...
We don't stumble on the enemy, he stumbles on us ...

Also known as: Killing 'em with mathematics...

True story, I convinced a friend who was a CT on a DDG to play DW against me. When he got to the TMA screen of the sub he said:

"Wait, I remember this! Where the bearing lines intersect with the ruler is the location of the target."

We then stalked each other for two hours before I sent a UGST in to his props.
