John Walker Lindh scheduled for release on Thursday.
Thursday, 23 May John Walker Lindh is scheduled to be released from prison after serving 17 years of a 20 year sentence. He will be on probation for the last three years.
Probably reasonable. I doubt he can be much of a threat any more. Especially since he will be watched carefully for probably the rest of his life. He was convicted of two crimes 1. Supplying services to the Taliban 2. Carrying an explosive during the commission of a felony There was no evidence published that indicated that he took direct action against any US forces.

I;m surprised he didn't get a life sentence like those victims he must have played a role in their demise.

It was a plea deal. The US really did not want it to go to court and risk information garnered through "inadmissible means" to be thrown out.
