IR 45 captures the town of Käppäselkä and its train station, cutting Soviet train traffic to the north from Kontupohja.

Group O begins to cross river Suunujoki to Kontupohja.

Finnish daily losses: 104

During IR 45's fight over Käppäselkä, a company strength force was sent behind the frontlines to blow up the rail tracks between the town and the station.

(Must be nerve-racking to go through those snowy pine forests, where you can only see as far as the next tree.
