Start by doing what's necessary; then do what's possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible.

Joking aside, it's no joke, especially when you like the great outdoors, as I know you do

The thing with asthma, the more outdoors you see, the less severe it is

I didn't know that. Why is that? I like my bike riding as you maybe know, but I thought I was going to have to do less of that...

Fresh air.
Astma attacks are triggered by alergens, with me it's dust mites, which hide in house dust. Nature has less of that stuff.
Then the humidity, humid air prevents attacks as sometimes just dry air can trigger the attac. Remember, trees humidify air, AC units dry it.
A fat stomach applies pressure to your lungs when lying down and that can cause an attack.
And finally, due to asthma I have a smaller lung capacity amd I have to be active just too keep my lungs working at a rate a healthy sedentary person might have.

The active me, with hiking pictures in the photo thread, is me of the last two years. Before that I emptied an inhaler every 3 months, now one lasts me for 2 years.

Life is ten percent what happens to you and ninety percent how you respond to it.

If Life was space invaders then it would be game over unless you got another £1 for the machine.

I used the inhaler as needed, not as prescribed

I assume they're the same as in the US. The inhalers use a preset metered dose.

My son has to use his (brown) inhaler morning and evening; don't you have to use this 'preventer' inhaler every day then?
