Photo recon of a habor. I'm well within the range. 4 ships. I've taken so many pictures (at least 100) they're starting to pose. It is night. I remember in the original SH it had to be daylight to take a picture. Think I'll try some time compression to get to the morning and see what that does for me.

Well to answer my question, I had to go about it in a round about way, as when I tried to load my saved game, it kept CTD. I think I made the mistake of creating a save point when I was under water. It not only corrupted that save but another one from the same career. Fortunately the auto save when leaving base was still intact so I was able to just start the patrol over again, no biggie at this point. Anyway, back to the harbor I went, and my theory of taking photos of the ships in the harbor during the day didin't pan out, but there was a ship, not in the harbor, but cruising by, that I took a photo of, and with just one snap shot of that merchant, I got a the completed notice. That was good enough for me! So I guess it's safe to say that the game wants not only pictures of what's in the harbor, but what is cruising by as well. I think I read someone mention a similar situation somewhere in this thread.

I have been on about 30 career missions, each time I return to the port I left from and upon return it asks if I want to end the patrol. I returned to Pearl, was assigned a new boat and that new boat left from Brisbane. I ran out of torps and returned to Brisbane and it asked if I wanted a refit, not to end patrol???
How can I find my home port and end my partol?

You should get a radio message informing you of a change of base. If you happen to miss the message, check your charts. The base with the tilted (fouled) anchor is your home base.

Default now I know?!

I was "frozen" in place, in the harbor where I was to drop supplies. I'd drifted past the Star. couldn't do Zip!
Thanks to your good guidance, I'll go back and nail that Star.
my previous "Deliver Spy" mission went off without a hitch.
Again, Thanks

Sure enough, exactly 48 hours after I entered that circle the mission completed. I only tested it once though, so in order to be definitive it needs to be confirmed by another player.

Note that the radius doesn't have to be 100 - it can be anything, so it's possible that some objectives might be more or less than 100nm. The only ones I've seen so far have been 100 though.

have you ever received orders to recover agent thay you inserted ?

Nope. The few times I've been given the mission, I inserted then went on my merry way to sink enemy ships.
