Hey! Thanks a lot everyone for your welcome!

And yep, returning from the underworld... I made the acount when I got curious about sub sims, I got hooked for a full year and then... poof, returning to Il2-1946 or Paradox games or PR. :O

Nowadays, I wanted to try it again, as I said, feeling that mixture between relaxation/boredom with darn incredible stress when a destroyer is trying to 'tickle' your private parts or when your torpedos are taking a suspicious long time to reach the objective.

I can imagine you have better virtual war stories, but then, when I got so hooked, I think that my best hit was when I got down the HMS Rodney in the middle of pretty bad weather. He had minimal escort. I got lucky. But I still keep those SH3 Commander personnel files.

Just and extract (GWX3.0 with between 60%-70% realism if I remember well):

-----------
18.12.39. 1229

Grid BF 13

Ship sunk! HMS Rodney, 36000 tons.
Crew: 1639. Crew lost: 295
---------

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Rodney_(29)

Again! Thanks a lot!
See you around!!

Buena caza! (Good hunting/Gute jagd)

Where the hell has the time gone!!!
Wow, that post reminds me of how quickly time passes.

Default A Submariner Again!

Ahoy Mates. Sorry that I’ve been AWOL. I had started playing Silent Hunter 1 in 2009 but within a few months my computer crashed and I lost everything, including all the resources and information I had collected. I had always intended to get back to SH but life intervened and I stopped playing computer games for a long time. I just downloaded SHIV from Steam and found that I am nearly back at the bottom of the learning curve of the game and how to do torpedo attacks. I can’t even control my sub properly, much less plot an attack!

In any event, I’m glad to be back and a member of Subsim. I look forward to being part of your community. Happy Hunting.
