Subsim Pirate Ensign
I got bored and started thinking today (very dangerous, I know).
I figured, submariners have often been likened to pirates in naval warfare, especially in the early 1900s. So, with a large pad pf paper, I started trying to come up with Subsim's very own black flag. I just hit a roadblock is the issue...I don't think I have any good ideas. The best I've had so far is a captain's skull (with the peaked cap) with two crossed torpedoes behind. I'd be glad to hear if anyone else has any suggestions or ideas...I'd be glad to let the site use it if enough people get behind it. Who knows, maybe it can be digitised and put into some of our favourite games.

Do u know the specific message U want your pirate flag to convey? Each symbol on a pirate flag actually had a specific meaning. For example Blackbeard's flag Reflected he was the king of death (satanic majesty? ) your time was up(hourglass in hand-that's not a martini even though you're already shakenif not downright stirred.) and u were gonna bleed...shortly as indicated by color red: no quarter given as your heart would be cut out. Polish> <and British subs...even resorted to useage & got in on the medium as well: "nothing terrifying goes outta style BBY"

If it works out, I would be interested in making a flag for it, for my ranch.

The flag sounds like a good idea. Something relatively innocuous.

Idiot! There's no such thing as an ' innocuous pirate' flag-that's the whole point! Here's mine: < translates to: " U R so DEAD After my morning 'cuppa Joe!" But I can see this for ol' Neal's Cougar Trap ranch motif> Kind of a: "prepare to B 'boned' my pretty" (ol' Cougar) theme! Quote:

I do like the idea of the crossed torpedoes. Seems like a job for 'Torplexed' to me.

What I want to show is something very 'Subsim'...something that relates to what we do (sink ships without being detected.)
I don't know how to signify that though.
