Battleship row looks pretty cool. Do they have changes, as in ships being dismantled/rebuilt, at later dates, or will this be something that can be modded?

Default Possibly the rarest way to get sunk

Location: off Honshu,Date: December 16, 1941, in the middle of the afternoon. There i was patrolling, looking for merchants to sink (no luck yet). I was though protecting my sub from search planes and other aircraft. I was doing good with that when, it happened. My air search radar had picked up two unknown aircraft (H6k's i later found out) coming up behind me. I waited at the AA gun for about a few seconds before i finally saw them. I quickly aimed the gun at the 2 incoming H6k's and started to fire. After a few seconds of firing i shot down the first one and then the next one. the first H6k veered away from my sub. then the second H6k headed straight for my sub. I could only watch as the craft clipped my sub then hit the water. Then damages from every part of the sub started popping up. Then my sub got destroyed and sank to the bottom.

I don't know why, but that always reminds me of Ken Marschall's painting of the Lusitania's bow going under...

My very first career with SH4 patch 1.3 + Taters Improved Campaign Layers ... Left Brisbane for the Solomon Islands on 10/6/42... Made it to the Solomons without incident... Engaged merchant on the surface with deckgun after torpedos either missed or didnt detonate... Damaged merchant heavily but she got away as the S class boat has a flank speed of only 7knots... Recieved no credit for the damage ...Patrolled the Solomons without getting any more contacts... Change of orders to patrol Truk Lagoon area and surrounding area... Plenty of planes detected by radar but luckily the S boat dives well... Weather is bad a lot of the time and now i realise the boat has used up a lot more fuel travelling in heavy seas... The batteries leave little to be desired and anything over 1 knot under water uses too much battery... Recieved a contact of a merchant but lost contact in heavy seas... The hydrophone operator either lost contact or could only tell me where it wasnt...Not sure if this was from fatigue or a malfunction or some other thing...No more contacts made and now i am desperately running out of fuel with all of this bad weather...Sober out...The weather cleared up on the rest of the way home and no incidents occured(fuel is now ok because we will use much less fuel in calm seas )... Returned to brisbane base and received new orders to rescue any downed airman in the vacinity of Solomon Islands... Made it to the solomon islands without incident but lots of radar contacts and frequent diving... Rescued some downed pilots and spotted aircraft again...Recieved new operational orders to deploy to the Caroline Islands... Seas are heavy , fog has increased to near zero visibilty...Many plane contacts recieved on the air warning radar...Sometimes we dive twenty times or more a day...The men are fatigued and the heavy seas and weather are taking there toll on the men...Sept 11th 1942 , miserable weather and we are hardly making any progress due to the bad weather...3 knots on the surface and 1 knot submerged...Weather has cleared and recieved orders to sink merchant shipping around the Caroline Islands...Something is wrong with the deck gun and will have to be fixed in port...We have no deck gun or anti aircraft guns...Patrolled the Caroline islands for a further three weeks with no ships sighted...Heading home due to lack of fuel...South of Caroline Islands picked up a radar signal and headed to intercept...Convoy consisted of two escorts and a huge troop liner...Fired four torpedoes at the liner but all missed...Couldnt surface to report convoy because too dangerous...Oct 4th 1942 , heading to Tulagi island for refuelling and more torpedoes...Recieved report of a convoy at 2deg north x 148deg east...Proceeded to the area and picked up a convoy on the radar...Sighted at least two destroyers and sounding of numerous large ships by the hydrophones...I decided to call off any attack because of wrong attack position , daybreak and numerous destroyers plus fog...Low on fuel...Weather clearing , fired torpedoes at two merchants but all torps missed...Sunk a sampan and a junk with the finally fixed deck gun...Reached Tulagi island and refitted...Heading to the Bismark Sea...

Four blips, four ships. Radar seems to work just fine now with 1.3 and looks far better.

Also sonar works even on the surface and dig the green light when your zeroed in. Close zeroing in now by mouse wheel. After you use home & end keys first.

and still we get the smileys.

Hi there fellow captains..

Finally back from Holiday. Just installed 1.3 and did some test runs.
Nice job devs (no DVD patch included !!). Only the planes still have that annoying graphic problem later on in a mission

Here some shots of USS Skate in the pacific for her test run.

When I have some spare time.. I will start working on the S-Class skin.
