Default LWAMI Bug with Akula´s Anti Ship Missile?

Hello.

I tried to attack an enemy FFG with the AS Missiles from an Akula II. No matter what settings I choose. They will ignore the target and fly until destruction range.

Is the error made by me, or is there a bug? Target was ~10-12nm away...

Would be happy about a few tips!

The missiles work just fine, provided they are on target, so my first thought is to check your TMA and enable range.

The detection range for the seeker head is about 10nm, so at 10-12 nm you might have some issues with the target being a bit too close. You'll want a minimum enable range and unless you have the missiles flying directly at the target out of the tube, a wide seeker setting at well. The practical minimum range is probably around 7nm.

Remember that these are two stage weapons... the first stage, which is subsonic, fires a second stage, which is supersonic.

Try using the weapons with show truth on and follow the missiles to the target. When the first stage enables and detects a contact, a second missile will fire from the first.

Cheers,
David

As I recall, the chaff effectiveness is something around 33%.

Even so, if the missiles were targeting the chaff, the missiles would be detonating on the chaff, if my memory serves me correct.

Cheers,
David

Default Same problem with SS-N-27

Hi @ all,

at first, sorry for my bad English, but I'm from Germany.
I have got the same problem with the russian SS-N-27 Anti-Ship-Missile.
I'm firing on a merchant ship, which is nearly 30 kilometers away.
My submarine (Akula K-335) is in 40 meters depth with 4 knots speed.
I use the automatic TMA.
The settings of the missile:
destruct range: 70 nm
seeker ranger: 1 nm
seeker pattern: wide

With 'show truth' I can see, that the missle don't attack the target, but misses it with about 500 til 1000 meters behind.
Then the missile flies until the destruct range and shut down.
I'm using the LwAmi-Mod.
I don't know what to do.

The settings are fine, and since you checked in Truth we can rule out a bad shot.

My guess would be that the mod isn't installed properly. The -27ASM is dependent on doctrine files which, if they aren't there, might result in the missile flying dumb as you've described. So I'd overwrite the doctrine directory with the mod doctrines, and if that doesn't work, remove and reinstall the whole mod.

Thank you for the rapid answer.
I've overwrite the doctrine files form the mod directory with the doctrine files from the original directory. Was that right?
Or what shall I do exactly?
P.S. I'm using the german version of Dangerous Waters. Could there be a problem with the mod? The files in the mod directory 'database' all end with .e...d. The files in the original directory too.

The LwAmi Mod is designed to work with the english version ... you have to modify the extensions of the db files to make it work. Check out www.marinesims.de or www.taktik-sims.de ... there should be a solution somewhere there (I'm just to lazy to check right now).
