All I can say is WOW! As content as I was with IUB 1.03, I'm thoroughly enthralled with GWX. Thanks guys. There isn't much more you could do to a perfect expansion imo. Something that Ubisoft should have done for us from the get-go instead of leaving us dead in the water revolving around deadlines and not putting quality first... my 2 cents worth of course.

As a previous GW virgin, I'm seeing the new sounds, motions of the Boat, the opening and adding function to other ports, as well as adding historical Operations that has really opened up this game to a new level of fun and realism, for the first time. Outstanding job! What a way to set a precedent!

All I can see forthcoming is the occasional improvement mod, fully functional AI subs, and filling in some missing Operations not currently supported by GWX (as described in the manual), yet to come. Then again, I'm of the mind to not complain about perfection.

You guys rock!

...now if we can only get working voice commands!

Another question...would it ever be possible to add environmental/land-based objects as destroyable objectives?

Default GWX file question

Read through this thread & wonder if after downloading all the sections and executing the install, if the original files downloaded can be deleted or moved to a CD to free up hard drive space??

Thanks!!

Yes they can
You will be able to install from a dvd if you burn them on one too

Not sure they will all fit on a cd

If I remember correctly, the total count of GWX is 791MB ...you may be able to zip it small enough to place it on a CD, but that would defeat the purpose of what Herr Russ is looking for.

You could always try compressing them if they won't fit 'untouched'

Sorry, but won't download it. I've uninstalled SH III, even with GW it just isn't the game for me. I'm glued to BF2...

Kudos Kpt.Lehmann for your teams hard work, and your excellent leadership. You've made a huge sacrifice from your own life for others gaming enjoyment.

Big Jugs out.

What a nice Christmas present! I'm going to dl this and burn it to DVD and put it under my tree- "Do not open till Christmas". (Thankfully it's only one more day.) Thanks guys. This is what I needed to get back into SHIII and keep me busy until SHIV comes bustin' out. Oh, and Merry Christmas to all at Subsim, from Ironkross!

After a few patrols I can honestly say that this is the best supermod ever made for SH3.

Now one question..

I really do not like the oversized sun that we have and would like to get ot a bit smaller.Would it be safe to use Krillers Sun Mod and not cause any side effects?
I see that it is a simple TGA file(sunhalo.tga) so I would not think it would hurt at all.

Thanks for your kind words Cworth. That means alot coming from you sir.
Yeah, that would be no problem at all to change your sun halo graphic. Why don't you post a link to Kriller's sun mod here as well. I may want to take a look at it myself for comparison.

Hmmm...

Sounds like this is pretty impressive.

I think I'll reinstall SH3.
