Icon8 Wits END!!

I have been trying to install TWoS and make it work for days now. I have used the various links and how to's to be able to get the game to run without crashing....which has been a complete failure.

I can't even keep more than one tab of a web browser open now with out a system lockup/crash

I have been reading over and trying to use the various "here's how" pages and video's...but this game using the TWoS super mod that people here on the forums tell me won't "CTD" keeps on "CDT". and now I am getting system errors that I have no clue what they mean and are keeping my laptop from using.

I suspect that I have messed my system up completely from trying to accomplish things by using this "help".

https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/take-b...es-windows-10/

as after I have made attempts to DO the things on this ^ link seems to be where my most recent and computer related problems have started.

WTF is a guy to do.

1) check your antivirus. You have to allow TWoS inside for it to work.

2) make sure you are downloading the FULL TWoS 2.2.9 mega mod! If you download the UPDATE, forget it. I did that once on accident.

3) be Sure your copy of SH5 is updated to 1.2 from Ubisoft. You cannot use TWoS if If isn’t!

If these fixes don’t help, you may have an internal conflict with your rig.

Full version of TWoS 2.2.9. and not upgrade version

Not the steam version. Installed off of disc. Run using 1.2 & "starting a career" before installing TWoS mod.

Ran full run of CC clean prior including registry to clear off old files.

I can get TWoS to take me to the "load game" screen option. Once it gets to that point, the game goes thru all the colorizing of the loading process then screen goes black...as it would do prior to being able to start play, when "voices start sounding...and you are in control of your player.

But the "fade to black" entrance crashes to desktop.

Alright check your graphics card. If you don’t have a good one you need an upgrade!

Check your game graphics options. Make sure all options are low to start and see if your game will start.

Like, set everything to zero. Shadows, textures, anti aliasing.

at this point the LEAST of my worries is about my game.

I keep getting "OUT OF RAM" messages...my browser's lock up. and I have restart my computer every hour.

I suspect I have done some serious damage. and I am VERY PO'd about it. It's my own fault I know...but

How much Ram do you have ? Open up Task manager ( Right Click on taskbar ) then second tab Performance - Memory, you can get a better idea what going on you can see what is being used up at the same time . Don't worry about any serious damage its very unlikely just needs a little detective work

PS. Gotta go 3am GMT

You need to fix 1 thing at a time the info in your link (https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/take-b...es-windows-10/) is complicated and probably not relevant anyway Backtrack any changes you have made by doing a System Restore hopefully you have a fairly recent save point . Forget the "Help" Link CTD's can have all sorts of root causes

When that is done Post any error messages you have after that + your System Specs, GPU + GPU Driver etc

The more information you can provide the better chance of a fix

Getting frustrated happens to us all you can just end up digging a big hole for yourself. Try to keep notes on any changes you make and avoid making multiple changes
