Default [REL] Emblems for OM 705 uboats

Current version 0.4

This implements emblems for OMEGU210 boat types: IIB, IIC, IID, VIIB, VIIC, VIIC/41, VIID, IX, IXB, IXC, IXC/40, IXD2, XXI.

Selecting an emblem

- predefined or your custom emblem can now we be selected from the equipment management menu, by default there is no emblem.



Making your own emblems

- they need to be DDS or TGA files, 256x256 pixels.
- transparency in your emblem image file will work.
- examples included with the mod, they were converted from SH3 (basically transparency added) they're not perfect but I'm sure your emblem will be!
- place your emblem in your game folder under Data\textures\TNormal\tex\emblem.tga or .dds and that's it.


Issues and problems


- the emblem model is a basic cube 1px deep, this can cause issues with conning towers that lack in flat areas such as type II subs. The emblem will not 'stick' well. As a result these boats get a smaller emblem and only the 'custom' one.
- if there is no emblem even if after you selected one from the menu, that means it hasn't been implemented for the boat, unless it's one of the boats mentioned at the top of this document, then it's probably a bug.
- type XXI emblem will disappear at certain angles, also looking for help with this one.

Tweaking placement


I have provided a placement kit for emblem positions in Support\OM U-Emblems\Placement Kit. Because S3D will not display external models associated this way, the kit will help with obtaining those coordinates. You can use those dat files to place emblems in whatever fashion and then copy the coordinates to the appropriate conning tower .dat file.
