is 165 the max depth??
i noticed when i get wooped and start sinking it sinks way past 165 without any ill effects , is that the max depth this sub can go?? i know the gauge only goes that deep, but is there any way to get deeper some how>?or am i being silly?

that depends on what boat you are in and if you have had ANY damage before.

I have been testing the various boats in my SH4. I use Crash dive (C), or Dive normal (D), and can get to around 320+ feet in the Balao, Gar, and Propoise. I then found this thread. I noticed different readings for different classes. I have not been able to take a boat fresh out of port and dive to a point of crushing. Am I missing something in how to force the boat to go deeper? Thank-you. |

so how do i get deeper than 165?
in the porpoise class with no damage? if the depth gauge only goes to 165?

found out the hard way
I found out the hard way about crush depth especially when you have Hull damage. I about to attack a convoy and wanted to the thermal layer in the Carolina's but ended up crushing my sub. I forgot about how hull damage was done when those dam destroyers ram ya. I think there should be an icon or something that tell you what percentage of your hull remains or what state it is in. I've checked my subsystems and all clear. What ya think?
I killed my crew at 120ft.
